Possibly one of the greatest organizations ever founded whose 'commandments' probably make more sense than those in the Good Book! "A Scout whistles and sings under all difficulties" :) No f**king whining in that outfit!

Wanna help me and my son put weights on 25 more Kub Kars tonight (already done 15) and bring them all up to 142 grams before they race them in the big tournament?

Loved making and racing the Cub Cars.

We have 55 Cubs in our group. My teenage son and I cut out everyone's cars with my and a borrowed scroll saw. I put the wheels on all of them with a hand operated 5ton press (it does them dead square) and we "tune" them all by bringing them up to weight, making sure that the wheels are all working well and lubricating them with graphite powder. They then compete in an Oakville-wide tournament that draws as many as 130 Cubs. We have a nemesis at the other end of town (with whom I used to be a leader) that goes to the same trouble and our kids usually finish well. It is a joy to see a shy geeky kid walk away with a trophy in hand. BTW, sometimes B.P. smiles on the humblest, most beat up car and kid and helps it go like stink, from above. That's better still.

The kids do most of the work but they are too young to get the fine mechanics right. So are most of the fathers, it would appear.
