There has never been a recorded temperature as low as that in the UK. It hardly ever gets anywhere near that even in winter. -3 degrees is seen as unbearably cold. And it certainly never gets anywhere near that in March.
Today it's sunny and warm, a glorious spring day.

Yesterday I was listening to the geese honking as they flew overhead while watching groups of robins grubbing for worms on all the open patches of ground. Today I am about to go outside and shovel the 5 cm of snow we got overnight.
Britain is actually hotter than Italy right now.
If it wasn't for you know what foreign tourists would right now be heading for Skegness and Llandudno rather than Venice and Naples.
