Our government had given the Reserves control of nearly every aspect of their lives and the Chiefs are the main administrators of all the monies for the tribes,so the opportunities for corruption are rampant. Most of these chiefs live as well as our Mandarins in Ottawa do.Still,Its a good thing that the Feds are stepping in [even though it's just politics!]

The majority of Haitian people live in such abysmal conditions that they would consider the most miserable Indian Reservation to be a plush palace.

Only one sentence.

Answer - you know nothing of what you are saying. Ignorance should not be worn as some badge of honour but should cause you to seek the truth.

I wonder if foreign intervention and foreign assistance would stop tommorrow if Haiti itself will ever get it right for its people?

We can go on blaming ourselves or the the Haitians themselves, but does anyone see a solution beyond all the blame?

Um, I didn't mean for it to sound rude.

Abreeze, you noted that your mom was originally from Cuba correct? I'm sure you'll agree with me that under dictator Castro's repressive communist polices, the folks there will continue to live in misery and poverty. Him and the other government officials live up the good life while the Cuban civilians continue to suffer.

Castro and his government need to go in order for the folks there to have their freedom.

I'm half Hatian half Cuban on my mom's side... wonder what that says about me.

Don't cross the border US/Canadian border. You might find youself being interrogated by a Syrian gestapo agent. WASP's with blue eyes are reasonably safe, but don't count on it.

New York City...great place to visit but I could never live there, at least not in the actual city, maybe somewhere far in the suburbs. It's just too congested for me and it's soo damn hot in the summer, surprisingly hotter than Los Angeles and many southern cities.....
