If these allegations turn out to be true, I hope something is actually done about it. Celebrity should not mean being above the law.

I read a couple of threads at IMDB where a couple of the posters asked why the guy waited so long to report it. I think it could be due to the fact that there seems to be a stigma attached to the person who reports a rape, even though they should be treated like the victim that they are (of course, there are people that have said that they were raped, but it turns out they lied, but the reality is that the vast majority of people that say that they were raped, were raped).

Agreed, but if it is true its unlikely that he will face any consequences. Not because he is a celebrity but because it was so long ago it'll be very difficult if not impossible to prove unless there were other victims or witnesses.

Who knows? Perhaps him coming forward will urge other (perhaps more recent) victims to come forward as well.
