Nope!!!lmao!!!

You know what my biggest problem is with politicians, past and present?

They do nothing for the greater good. I don't trust Gores motives, not one bit. I'll use a line from the movie "Hunt For Red October"

"I'm a politician. That means, if I'm not kissin' baby's, I'm tryin' to steal their lollipops."

That sums them up quite nicely. No matter the stripe.

I would weigh in on this topic, but I'm tired of trolling. lol.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust that shady character Carter either, he literally builds homes for the poor.....he's up the something, I just know it.

I'd doubt Gore if he hadn't been doing this since the late 70's.

"Gore participates in a utility program that sells blocks of "green power" for an extra $4 a month. He buys 108 such blocks every month, covering 16,200 kilowatt-hours and helping subsidize renewable energy sources."
Wouldn't it be easier just to cut back consumption?
It's like I'm going to spill x gallons of toxic waste into the river but I'll counter that by buying a gadget to clean it up with.

No, it's not like that at all. Consider some of your own excesses for an understanding of the issue. You use a computer which uses power which could be put to better use. It's just a luxury and it's only a different luxury than the ones in which Gore partakes. Do you indulge yourself in any other luxuries which ar wasteful from an environmental point of view? Maybe you have two or three cars in your family? Maybe you drink alcohol which takes energy to produce. It could be used in your car's gas tank!

I'm sure the solar panels will help with that.

Plus using sources of renewable energy have no ill effects on the evironment like let's say coal fired plants.

It would be like saying turn off the tv, you're using up the suns energy and polluting the planet.

Actually, it is like that. Scuse me but what do you know of my excesses?
My pc is used for work. I have one vehicle. When I get my electric car I will have two. But there are two of us here and we don't always do the same things at the same time. Get a grip. I started on my green plan decades ago (about 2.5 decades ago to be more accurate): when did Gore start his? When did you start yours?
But, this is besides the point: isn't it more efficient to simply cut back than to do this consuming then countering the consuming bit?

Isn't it better to do both?

Gore has been on this for thirty years and your claims are just that....claims.

Turn off the radio, the sun isn't free you know and look at all the pollution coming from it.

And maybe Gilbert should get a bicycle too. Two cars!!! Imagine that. But on the positive side he's using this forum as part of his work I suppose. He's a layman who makes money antagonizing others for profit. I just hope he doens't try drinking the gasohol to support his economizing lifestyle. LOL

I guess I don't understand how buying blocks or whatever they are helps anything.
Converting to solar power helps cut back, yes. I use hydro myself as I have a creek running down my place. I didn't need to buy these green blocks to do that, though.

Gore's been at it for 30 years? Is there any evidence of that "claim".
Claims? You are calling me a liar? Save your breath for blowing up your girlfriend, pilgrim.
I don't have a radio or tv on.

In life Gilbert, every so often you run into people who are better at your trade than you are.

But I am willing to admit that I may have misunderstood you completely. You don't drink alcohol and you don't watch television and you don't listen to the radio and you don't raise beef on your land, which can be used much more productively and enviro friendly by growing cabbages. But to be fair, you do seem to be wasting a little bit of power on the internet. Just a tiny little bit.

I agree, I have known better firefighters than me. I've seen very few people trim the excess in there life down as far as I have, though. I also haven't seen anyone show me where buying blocks of whatever it is is more efficient than just cutting back.
Actually, I am working as am posting. It's called multitasking.
Also, I didn't say I don't drink alcohol, I said I don't drink gas. I have about 4 or 5 bottles of stout a week. When I have a bottle of stout, it cuts back on the size of my next meal. Um, notice I said "bottles"? Glass is easier and takes less energy to recycle than aluminum.
My land grows more than just cabbage; like garlic, spinach, beans, carrots, etc. Most of it grows forest and wild critters.
Does Gore need to live in a 10,000 foot² house in Nashville, TN, a 4,000 foot² house in Arlington,VA, and a large one in Carthage, TN.? Has Gore closed the family mines in Tennessee? (Um, mines are environmentally messy things).

OH, o.k. I just took your word on being a 'retired' firefighter. Do you grow fish on your property too? Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I don't have a radio or tv on.

He held the first congressional hearings on reducing carbon emmissions in the late 1970's.

Oh boy another insult.....nice.

The tv comment had nothing to do with having a tv on, would it be better if I said computer? Please do try to follow along.

It helps because it's green energy, you can reduce all you want but if that power continues to come from coal you are still spewing out cardon dioxide.

You can do both, reduce where you can and use green energy.

Why is that so hard to figure out?
