Globalization could possibly be defined as modern age colonialization.

This means obtaining the products of the subject country, that are desired by the host, at a bargain price. The issues of the subject country are taken into account, only so far as to keep them submissive.

Benefits may accrue, but they are difficult to quantazise. The effects may be quite different to the well being of the host and subject country. It sort of depends who is propagandizing the effects.

Globalization seems misunderstood these days because

A. There are no jokes about it.
B. Does the world only have an economic enterpretation these
days?
C. I saw on a CBC show one day that explained that glob. really started centuries ago
when Columbus sailed across the ocean and opened new trade routes. When the
Portuguese traveled to India, Indians were ready to do business, ie, sell their
spices and make money. Glob. is is not entirely a solely Western initiative by any
means. We always underestimate the east, now China is "suddenly" rising. Big news.
D. Economics and globalization are two separate words, they have two separate meanings.

If people can be divorced these days, so can econ. and glob.

"Global" means 'everything' in its most basic sense.

It can mean lots of things economically - "Globalists" are sometimes thought of as that group who would rule the world for their own benefit ; Or it could be those like me who want to see a world of harmony where issues are solved as they relate to the whole world and we are unified in a benevolent way.

Benevolent, or Selfish?
"World Government" can be either - we better not let the current group of Elites who are vying for world domination get what they want or it will not be a better world for all, just for them and worse for us.

So its a good point to say Globalisation is not defined - we don't know who is going to win control yet!!
