Every measure to identify "communities of interest" in gerrymandering only opens up more opportunities for undemocratic deck-stacking (as well as being patronizing and bigoted).

Start in the northeasternmost point in each state and computer-model X equal-population, geographically cohesive districts.

Ain't. . . gonna. . . happen.

If you keep a balance between the number of years each side has control, you can assume that a roughly equal number of gerry's get mandered and the vote is roughly fair.

The true genius of our system has always been that enough people genuinely believed in it that chicanery had to be held within certain limits, or the people would rebel.

I fear that may not be true anymore.
