It's abundantly clear Iraqi forces will never be able to pacify Iraq. This October will go down as one of the most horrific months for US personnel stationed there and coverage has made it clear when the poop hits the fan in any rebel hotspot local security vanishes. It's a civil war and police and army domestics there are often complicit in passing information on to insurgents and facilitating their movement. Why this hasn't finally penetrated the presidential cranium I don't know. Iraq is a mess and will remain a mess until a strongman takes charge. And his supporters won't be wearing US supplied Iraqi uniforms.
