Gas Tax as a Percentage vs fixed price per liter

In the USA the government taxes Gas at a fixed rate per Gallon.

In Canada it is taxed as a Percentage.

Does anyone here understand the significants of this and what this actually means to Canadians and the clearly illigitimate way our people are being taxed?

If you are referring to the fact that the amount of tax revenue for the Government of Canada increases in response to increases in the price of gas, then yes, I know what you mean. However, if you aren't referring to the math of the situation, then I would ask you to elaborate on your assertion.

I understood the only variable component was the GST, which will be lowered.

The Canadian Government has a built in windfall tax hike with each rise in gas price.

This is money that they do not budget and cannot budget for receiving.

When they get these windfalls from screwing the taxpayers this way, the taxpayers blame the Oil Companies, Bin Laden and world events, while our public administrators and quietly doling it out to all levels of government to pay off the local representatives to put a lid on public reaction to the ever rising price with is risinig twice as fast because the tax is a Percentage and getnerating WINDFALL revenues they can squander at will without justifying raising taxes.

This is a much bigger scam than any ever tried and it involves the participation and duplicity of every government and government agency getting a cut of the hidden windfall tax that eats at the heaert of the Taxpayers standard of living.

You don't hear much in the press over this because everyone is working very harrd to keep a lit of this scam or all Canadian scams.
