France hails her friendship with Britain

French President Emmanuel Macron was joined by British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, King Charles III and Queen Camilla at the British Museum in London to view the Bayeux Tapestry.

After they viewed the 200 feet long tapestry portraying the 1066 Norman Invasion of England - which France has recently lent to Britain - the French President then gave a speech in English in which he declared that France will remain a close ally to her next door neighbour Britain.

Of course, for many years the two countries had been enemies and rivals.

In population and GDP and military prowess the two neighbours are almost equal...
