If this driver was as emotionally unstable as he claims to have been, then she should NOT have been working. He took ALL of his frustrations with life out on this passenger. The passenger may have been a jerk, but he was NOT responsible for this man's life situation.

When you accept a public service job, you have to be emotionally stable. This guy was obviously NOT stable. The MOST he should expect is the possibility of a disability retirement, based on his OBVIOUS mental disability. He should never be allowed to drive a public bus again. Next time, he is likely to physically attack a passenger, making the city liable for massive damages.

Who decides who is emotionally stable enough for a public service job?

After watching the video the bus driver used the F word while screaming at the rider that would not leave him alone.
No that's what they driver claims-we see No Such Thing.

He will eventually get his job back when he gets some anger management classes.
You wish-but that's not how the world works not even close.

Why not just suspend him and get him the classes?

Because He's FIRED that's why!!

The problem is that there is no sign posted anywhere on the bus that you cannot talk to the driver of a bus because it takes the concentration away from driving and it is comparable to talking on a cell phone.
Ever been on a bus-I mean ever?

Because how else can you ask for directions without talking to the driver?

Curious mind wants to know and all that.

Eventually the city has to start buying buses with separate door for the driver that physically separated from the passengers.
To protect the passengers you mean?

Because the only place I've seen that was in rural Colombia-never on a city bus in any place.

They would have to hire a separate ticket taker or install an electronic fare box that only takes a reloadable bus pass that is scanned on the reader.
Total Bee Ess-what are you on anyway?

In Toronto and other major cities there is more rider agitation towards the bus driver and it looks like this trends will get worse before it gets better.
The solution is to support the drivers and make passengers part of that support-not put them in cages-again I doubt you have ever ridden in a bus.
