I've loved watching movies since I was a kid watching the late show with my dad on our old black and white. I like human interest stories and biographical stuff mostly. There are several movies I've loved over the years. I could still watch them over and over. The Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men. Two Steinbeck classics. Elmer Gantry with Burt Lancaster, the Sinclaire Lewis classic. Many others too numerous to name back in the old days. More recently it has been Shawshank Redemption, Slingblade, Driving Miss Daisy and On Golden Pond so on and so forth. Probably my two favorite male actors are Morgan Freeman and Paul Newman. I've watched about every movie each of them were in. Paul is my favorite though. From Hud to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid I liked all of them. So I'd have to say, that my favorite all time movie and I've watched a bunch in my day, is the Paul Newman classic Cool Hand Luke. I always keep a copy with me where ever I go. Still like it the same as when I first watched it many years ago.

The best Sci-Fi (or perhaps the most likely distopian future) is seen in Blade Runner. Harrison Ford's acting is a little mechanical but then we find out at the very end that he is also a Replicant that didn't know it, so even that works.

Great movie.

Eagle Creek
The Mission, Legends of the Fall, Thelma and Louise, Dead Poets Society ..........to name a few. I like movies that are intelligent and have intelligent cast members - I want the movie to make me think as well as entertain. I do veer from this policy if the movie has sensational animations and graphics such as volcanoes blowing up - Dante's Peak; earthquakes - every movie ever made about them - the new one with the Rock isn't bad and Avatar for it's beautiful, stunning, imaginative animations.

Every time I see or hear something about the movie Cool Hand Luke, I immediately think of boiled eggs. It is a classic.

Edit: The soundtrack, songs and themes are also important.

I have to admit that I've liked Robin Williams in most of his movies including Dead Poets Society.

The World According to Garp. I'd say for the best Robin Williams movie it's at least tied with the Fisher King. The humour was just so dark.

Other favourites include, the Life of Brian, Yellowbeard, Raising Arizona, Children of Men.
