Fans Want Nickelback Pulled From Detroit Lions Game

nickelback is a great band, for a bunch of 15 year olds. Oh, right, they're adults now. Maybe they could learn to write, to sing, and to play.
Nickelback is OK for the under 35 crowd and I can understand the Lions trying to appeal to the younger generations as they need to replace the older ones that are dying off. Sure Detroit has a rich music history but unless you are going to have a hip hop act, the pickins have been slim in Detroit the last few years. If you're focusing on the younger generation, Suzi Quatro or The White Stripes won't cut it.
... is the new nickelback getting much airplay where you folks live? i know they released two singles from their upcoming album back in september. i heard one of them, a song called bottoms up, on the radio once. it totally blew me away. outstanding tune. but then i never heard it again. it's not that radio isn't playing nickelback, they play them every hour it sounds like, but i'm still only hearing the older stuff ...
Don't know. I generally don't listen to pop radio stations at the best of times and honestly, most of Nickelback sounds pretty much the same. That's not a bad thing. George Thorogood says he only knows three chords and he's pretty good.
I think it appeals to 15 year old boys, but won't by the time they're 17, it's stuff that is quickly grown out of.
what? really? I'd say 'Sheepdogs', and 'Rural Alberta Advantage', but not Nickelback, for that comment.
Oddly enough, both of those bands were ones I was just listening to and posted youtube videos for in 'what are you listening to'

... the thing about nickelback is how they've managed to keep it going where a lot of similar bands would've dropped out long ago. just when i think chad can't come up with anything more catchy than the last album -- bang -- he releases a new nickelback cd that's even better than the last one. what he does ain't complicated but it sure does work, dont it?
