The evidence is stacked against the authors. George Mason University is now investigating the allegations of plagiarism.

University investigating prominent climate science critic - Science Fair: Science and Space News - USATODAY.com

The report which was critical of the work of Mann, Bradley, and Hughes actually lifted the words Bradley used in his textbook on paleo-climatology, and used it without referencing where it comes from. They also made changes to words which altered the very statement they were plagiarizing.

Not only is the report to Congress evidently plagiarized, the work of Wegman's students also suffers from this lack of scholarly ethics.

The ironic part, is that Wegman used something called social network analysis in his investigation of the climate hockey stick. He plagiarized much of this background work, and now it appears that he and his protege's are actually even tighter in their associations than the climate scientists he suggested were too closely associated to be objective.

Oh, that is wicked irony!
