As for the rest, people often mock articles that seem ridiculous.

That's my point. It only "seemed" ridiculous without any background info. The women is not a doctor or a specialist of any kind. As a lay person, she took the issue to the school. If she is a nut job for acting without all the information, what do we call those that pounced on her without all the information?

I spend a ridiculous amount of time dealing with hazard assessment and mitigation and it is surprising how few people really understand the process.
