Police have arrested the ex-boyfriend of Gua Huang Liu and charged him with killing the woman whose body parts were discovered recently in Toronto and Mississauga.
Chunqi Jiang, 40, has been charged with second-degree murder.
He was arrested on Sunday, according to Peel Regional Police.
"Mr. Jiang is a construction labourer and the recently estranged boyfriend of the victim," said Insp. George Koekkoek.
"This investigation is ongoing and is far from over," Koekkoek told a news conference at police headquarters in Mississauga.
Police said Jiang is a Canadian citizen of Chinese descent who arrived in Canada in 2002.
