fair point.

I think the choice of phrase was wrong there...of course you have a freedom of speech....unless you go disagreeing and saying silly stuff like the holocaust never happened (which of course it did)...


but in my opinion, a law that states that you CANNOT deny the holocaust happened, and get thrown into jail if you do...is much the same as not having free speech.

my statement made NO referance to the holocaust
i happen to believe that the historical evidence for it--- is overwhelming----

The Austrians are hypocrites.

One minute they publish a Danish cartoon in their newspaper which is offensive to Islam, and then say that it's free speech and complains that the British didn't do the same (even though it's illegal in Britain to offend other religions in that way) but then lock up a British man who denied the Holocaust, even though he made his comments about 7 YEARS ago.

So the Austrians are so concerned about free speech one minute (when it comes to insulting Muslims) but don't give a damn about it when it comes to insulting Jews and Christians.

If Irving made these comments he Britain, he would NOT have been jailed.
