1. The following are the White House incumbent's comments in his truthsocial.com about the US-China trade framework after the London talks:

OUR DEAL WITH CHINA IS DONE, SUBJECT TO FINAL APPROVAL WITH PRESIDENT XI AND ME. FULL MAGNETS, AND ANY NECESSARY RARE EARTHS, WILL BE SUPPLIED, UP FRONT, BY CHINA. LIKEWISE, WE WILL PROVIDE TO CHINA WHAT WAS AGREED TO, INCLUDING CHINESE STUDENTS USING OUR COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES (WHICH HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOOD WITH ME!). WE ARE GETTING A TOTAL OF 55% TARIFFS, CHINA IS GETTING 10%. RELATIONSHIP IS EXCELLENT! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

(i) What has Mr Nice Guy highlighted in his post?

(a) FULL MAGNETS, AND ANY NECESSARY RARE EARTHS, WILL BE SUPPLIED, UP FRONT, BY CHINA

(b) America's 55% tariffs on Chinese goods.

(c) China's 10% tariffs on American goods.

(ii) What does China hope to get from America in the London talks?

No details have been mentioned by Mr Nice Guy or his officials except the phrase:

(a) WE WILL PROVIDE TO CHINA WHAT WAS AGREED TO,

(b) INCLUDING CHINESE STUDENTS USING OUR COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

(iii) It is obvious from Mr Nice Guy's post that (ii)(a) will emerge as a bone of contention in the implementation of the deal. By intentionally excluding all the details of Chinese demands in the London talks, Mr Nice Guy can interpret the trade framework in his favour. In future, he can claim that certain Chinese demands have never existed, and that China has violated all the terms of agreement in the London talks.

America has been earning a lot of money from foreign students in US colleges. Such revenues and benefits to the US coffers have been craftily left out in the calculation of America's trade surplus. Hence the US ban on international students is an "economic suicide" which is no big deal to China and other countries.

How many Chinese lawmakers and ministers can speak English fluently? By banning Chinese students from US colleges (resulting in less Chinese learning English), Mr Nice Guy hopes to have more leeway in interpreting the outcome of any future trade negotiation in his favour. If the worst comes to the worst, he could blame his intentionally wrong interpretation as an example of a message "lost in translation".

Now we know at least one cunning trick of Mr Nice Guy's so-called "Art of the Deal". The Chinese trade negotiation team has been taken for a ride all the way to London.

P.S. Although Marco Rubio (now his state secretary) backs Trump, he stands by calling him a "Con Man".
