If you want to know what the Liberal platform is all about in a nutshell, just look at the words in it and how frequently they’re used.
Brian Lilley posted to social media that while “deficit” is mentioned twice, “abortion” appears four times in the document and “CBC” is named six times.

Let’s walk through what this all tells us about Liberal promises and what’s really going on with this platform. http://apple.news/AnZ-Lu624QH670m9IEfZ6SA

What’s with going on about abortion? The issue is old and it’s a debate that’s been settled. Yet the Liberals just can’t stop talking about it. They’re desperate to rehash it as a wedge issue even though few people care.

They tried to smear the Conservatives under Erin O’Toole as somehow bad for abortion rights. That desperate attempt fell flat though because O’Toole is pro-choice.

As for CBC appearing in the platform, spare us. Trudeau is now promising to give what is clearly his preferred news agency an extra $100 million per year. This is on top of the extra $150 million per year he started giving them once he got into office. And this is happening as CBC’s popularity is waning, with declining viewership.

The Liberals likely suspect their platform isn’t much of a winner. Trudeau used his time during the announcement to try to link anti-vaccine protesters to Erin O’Toole and even invoked Stephen Harper.

Trudeau wasn’t focused on selling his platform. He was focused on sowing division.
