England have become the first European team to qualify for the World Cup with a perfect record: winning all their matches and without conceding a goal.

Two late goals by England's all-time leading goalscorer and captain Harry Kane at a hostile Arena Kombëtare in Albanian capital Tirana saw England - who had already qualified for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, USA and Mexico - finish the qualifiers with six wins out of six with 22 goals scored and none conceded.

It's also the first time that England have won 11 consecutive competitive matches.

England are ranked 4th in the world and Albania are ranked 61st.

Albania, meanwhile, have finished second in European Qualifying Group K which means they have advanced to the play-offs and still have a chance of qualifying for the World Cup for the first time.

England's German manager Thomas Tuchel will of course be delighted by the way they have yet again qualified for a World Cup and will be hoping they carry on their impressive form at the tournament itself in North America next summer.

After scoring twice against Albania tonight, England captain Harry Kane has overtaken Brazil legend Pele as the all-time leading international goalscorer...
