So do I and it comes with Vista so I don't see why anyone would be searching for something else.

because it comes with vista somehow means it is good, safe or reliable? The windows live client is a turd, plain and simple. Enjoy your viruses.

Um, you’re mistaken, DurkaDurka. Service Pack 43 came with new turd-resistant algorithms to better manage memory explosions and to make the “New Message” icon 3D* and wavy (*32GB RAM recommended).

I don't have any but I run a daily scan.

Most people probably don't if they dilligent with running AV scans and not opening every link they come across. The problem with Windows Mail is that is basically a reskinned Outlook Express which is notorious for exploits, losing your data etc. I used to work tech support for an ISP and every other call seemed to be about some type of Outlook Express issue.

:-( I used to like Outlook as well. I never even had any trouble with it. Maybe it's because I have always (well nearly) had my computer set for a daily scan. The thing I really don't like is Vista itself.

Yeah, I think a couple other million people would agree with you there. Windows 7 will be out this fall and it is a huge improvement over Vista, I have been using it for a couple months now and I quite like it.

Here
I use operamail (with firefox ) most often when I need a online presence .I will not use gmail under any circumstance ( too many hacker claims of hackability ).For the really important stuff I do so manually ( my firefox is locked down to forget upon shutdown).
But I don't need to do more than the odd business online so ymmv.
