obviously... I can if this got thru

But some posts won't work. The topic is internet police on one post that I have tried 25 times.
I have tried copy/paste from word pad mostly, instead of writing it all out. That gets frustrating to lose the posts I written out.

It could be a bug in my computor, or it could be that I am being censored, although I find that so unbelieveable. It would be cool to be "on the front lines of the conspiracy" ...

Any ideas why I can't post?
It just goes "ie explore will now close", and the page closes, and I can't open up a webage again , I just get that error message, until I re-start the computor.

Sounds like part of Internet Explorer is corrupted due to spyware or bad system file. I would suggest you scan your pc for spyware using Spybot, Ad-Aware Microsoft AntiSpyware. Also, I suggest you get rid of internet explorer and try out Mozilla Firefox. http://www.mozilla.org

Re: Error message

"Please set reg key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NetFramework\InstallRoot
to point to the .NET Framework install location
"

is the error message I get sometimes.
Do you have any idea where I might do that? Is it BIOS? Is it the folder I load Int.Exp. setup downloaded items to?

Thanks for the tip Dan_c22 , I am going to mozilla now...

Thanks Dan_c22,
- you would be pretty impressed that now I AM RUNNING MOZILLA BROWESER if you knew how resistant I am to doing downloads and more installs on my tiny hard drive.

I loaded it and installed it, et ip up and here I am. posting. So far not bad, but I have yet to try to post that document that keeps getting me boinked offline.

So thanks for the advice, I would never have known about it as I am not much into tech., preferring that things "just work". Ha ha

RE: Duz Anybody know why

I am glad it works for you manj. The error you are getting had to do with the microsoft.net package... which is junk. If you go to add/remove program, you might find it in there, uninstall it if you do.

Karlin you will find there are so many awsome extenions and themes availble for Firefox. You can get them at Mozzilla. You will love firefox. You have more freedom to configure it to your liking than with IE. More secure and stable. Easier to get updates for your themes and extensions. Hell I was running Firefox long before I even went to Linux. You will like thge Tab browsing as well. I sure do.

That was my next Q - How to uninstall ?

premonoted by Dan_C :"I am glad it works for you manj. The error you are getting had to do with the microsoft.net package... which is junk. If you go to add/remove program, you might find it in there, uninstall it if you do."

I don't see microsoft.net in my Add/Remove uninstall box.
Nor Internet Explorer... I have gone thru the folders in PrgFiles, Int Exp. , and can't find uninstall for Int Exp. . There is a n uninstall folder, but no 'application'. There is an EXCP file, but it doesn't do anything.
Would I download it from Microsoft? Or can I just delete it? I am concerned about not getting spyware, etc. files out of my computor if I don't uninstall properly.

And do you know if the spyware virus's etc. are in the Program files or hidden in the OS somewhere?

BTW, I do have Ad Aware and run it often.

RE: Duz Anybody know why

Can't you remove IE by going to add/remove programs? There may be another way to remove it as well.

Maybe someone who is more familar with Microsoft operating system could help you out on that. I have been removed from XP so long, I am forgetting how it works.

RE: Duz Anybody know why

Karlin:

Some firefox extensions I use to give you an idea are:

Fore Cast Fox
Foxy Tunes
Flash GotFlash Block
Redirect remover
Stumble upon
smiley extra
Adblock
SpoofStick
Tab Browser preferance

and for the browser theme I use "SphereGnome" I used to use "Walnut" and its just as nice but I wanted a change.

of course there are many other themes, extensions and plug ins availble at Mozilla.

You may not want to use what I use, but I thought I would give you some suggestions anyways.

Good Luck with Firefox and do not be afraid to ask any questions. Firefox is easier to use and real easy to upgrade and check for upgrades for your themes and extensions. Click "edit" then "prefrences" then "advanced" then click software updates and you are set. Also a little update icon will appear next to the mozilla icon in top right hand corner. The icon (mine anyways, looks like a book) and click it and you will be updated in seconds.

Firefox does have a pop up blocker, you have complete control over cookies,VBScript and ActiveX are not supported which cause problems with IE, Firefox is nor intergrated windows which is a plus, and No spyware/adware software can automatically install in Firefox just by visiting a web site. But you should still run "adaware" or any other spyware remover as you are on microsoft and as well since you run a microsoft Operating system you will still need to scan for virus's.

I hope I helped a bit anyways.

IE is built into the operating system.....so it is an integral part of the total code. Cannot be removed.(ergo you will not find it on "add remove programs". If you are looking for a good browser........you might want to try Avant Browser or Maxthon Browser. ( both are based on IE core technology , but faster, more reliable , with built in popup stoppers and other features that are excellent. But not cumbersome or overladen with too many fancy extras. The latest Netscape browser looks good too........much "slimmer" too.

RE: Duz Anybody know why

Yeah Netscape is good. Similar to fire fox (similar features) and I believe mozilla and netscape are in cahoots?

Konqueror is also a good browser, actually a very good browser. I use it as well, but you have to run Linux to use it.

Netscape is a little more bloated then I care for. Opera is a decent browser too... anything except Internet Exploder.

As for good browsers, I think I have one now!![Mozzilla]

My computer is generally working better now, less hangups and its smoother and well, wow this is great now.

There is one web-place I can't get to with Mozzila, the MSN Gaming zone, where I shamelessly spend hours playing backgammon with others. Thats ok, I will just keep the IntExp and use it for backgammon,

I have a beef with Microsoft, as do almost anyone I guess.
I paid for their Millenium OS, and its never been right.
I paid Microsoft Qualified Techs to work on it, and they just goofed around - I got better results by just re-installing the OS overtop of itself. {Remember, They create the problems, and then offer the solution for a price!!]
And finally, I used their Internet Explorer for a long time without satisfaction, and their support/downloads/fixes was not helping.
My beef includes - why should bill gates be so rich if his stuff don't work?

LOL, I know suck it up man!
Karlin

PS - I owe Dan_c a big favour for turning me onto Mozzilla. And its FREE!!! Thanks dude!
