I'm going to hazard a guess that maybe it's because they don't give a damn about the kids they've fathered.
In my experience, whether sons are or are not like their fathers is pretty random.

Unfortunately, we reap what we sow.
Sometimes it is fortunate. In my 4 boys, I am well pleased. I thank my wives for allowing me to choose them as those were good choices for that period of time.

OK, good and ill are always rewarded in kind, and sons invariably grow up to be like their fathers. And there's a big beardy old guy dressed in a nightshirt sitting on a cloud who will torture you forever if you jerk off. And people who don't go to church don't have faith.
