I respectfully ask out of curiosity. Is Thanksgiving just another stat holiday day that most natives don't get concerned about.. cook the damn turkey and enjoy the day kind of thing? Or is it something that stirs a lot of negative within native communities? Or is something else celebrated as a replacement?

We actually have a harvest ceremony. We give thanks, dance, feast, and dance some more.

No negativity. All were welcome.

A good time is had by all.

I posted a video of my boys on the ceremonial drum at this years Harvest ceremony. My youngest sons first time.

I always thought that Thanksgiving in Canada was really just an "end of harvest" celebration. I mean, in comparison with the U.S. Thanksgiving where it's more tied into the whole pilgrim thing in it's origin.
