Hi, everyone.

I am a new member in this forum. My name is Rifki and I am from Indonesia. I join this forum because I love observing this whole world. I am also a fan of reality talent competitions, especially the singing ones and the franchised ones.

in my first thread, I am going to express and share my ideas and thoughts about the possibility of the English-language Canadian version of The Voice, a singing competition franchise originated in Holland and became (and still becomes) a hit after US TV channel NBC launched the American version in 2011.

I think, after 12 seasons of the American version, which airs on CTV in Canada, CTV should get the rights and launch the Canadian English-language version, entitled The Voice of Canada because CTV has the potential, just like what CTV had done with the Idols franchise (American Idol and Canadian Idol)...

Honestly, I don't really like the Quebec version, La Voix because they do not allow Canadians outside the province of Quebec to join. that's why I think Canada needs the English-language version.

for the selection of coaches and host(s) as well as the format, my version could be recommended... (my recommendations are in the attachment), or maybe if you don't agree with some of my choices, you could suggest other names...

for Canadians here, do you guys agree??? Let me know it in the comments down below...

Meh. I'm getting sick of copy cat TV. Some network comes up with a good idea and next thing you know, every other network is trying to glom onto it.
I had a friend who auditioned for Canadian Idol about a decade or so ago now. She had a really good voice and could have likely made the show, BUT, there's a difference between singing karaoke in front of 50 people at a bar and singing on the stage of a TV studio with a sizable audience and cameras.
She ended up being used as a blooper example of what NOT to do when auditioning.. Fortunately, she took it pretty good.

bro, let me tell you.

The Voice's blind audition is different with Idol's audition. Only the best of the best of the best (around 100 to 150 people) are invited by the producers. Also, Idol has upper age limit and only accepts solo singers, but The Voice does not (have upper age limit). The Voice also accepts duos and groups (based on Holland's format, don't look at the US version which only allows duos, but not groups). So, the quality of The Voice is much much more than Idol.
