Really, I depise them and thier maze of customer service confusion.
That's all. Thanks for reading. As you were.

RE: I really hate Dell

I can't say I CAN help, but I take computer questions from my FRIENDS via PM.

I never had a problem with Dell, I have 4 computers, all Dell, we buy Dell computers for our students and I have been on the phone with them many times. Nope, no problem :D

I was sent the wrong machine - or better, the sales rep said the machine I bought would do certain things it does not. My warrenty is up.....uh, hello I bought an extended warrenty!! Apparently not. Now, I have to buy and external drive, but wait! Your credit application wasn't approved. How could this be when I already have a credit agreement as it is?? Well, I'm on hold, again!

"I actually need a CD/DVD RW drive. I thought I had one."

That sucks!

I wouldn't spend the money on an external unit; I would get an internal. If the machine is out of warranty I would take it down to the local computer shop and get one. I think I paid $55.00 for the last one I bought. If you can install it yourself, great! If not Dr. Z, over there, or I, could help you.....

Here's the REAL kicker.....I used to have an external unit! I traded it with some cash for the computer I used to have. I no longer speak to the SHREW I it gave to, so now I have to buy one. I'm hoping to force Dell into doing something, although I'm not sure how that's going to work out.

Also, now that I know I don't have the extended warrenty as I thought, I plan to do all sorts of non-Dell shit to it! Ha, bite me DEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

RE: I really hate Dell

dell was good years ago, and supposedly their business (optiplex) systems are still good.

I would never touch a dimension or one of their laptops though.

Sorry to hear you had the problems. I have hear both good and bad stories about dell customer service.

My Relations With Dell

I don't "hate" Dell.

However, I do hate the fact that they so kindly decided to have two virtual network cards installed on my computer. They cause far more problems than they fix; random network outages, until I disable the virtual devices.

Bah ... but they reappear at startup.

Damn you, Dell! Aaaaaaggh!

:)

RE: I really hate Dell

I used to have an Inspiron of some sort; when the hard drive went kablooey, I was able to get it replaced under warranty with no fuss, no muss. Fortunately, our local geek was able to get it to boot up once, and recover all the data before I sent it away.

Interesting. Maybe you could expand on this a bit?

I used to own a IMAC (green one). Aside from the normal compatibility problems and the fact that it just up and died one day, I had no problems with it. Oh, and replacement stuff like mouse, keyboard and other things were SO expensive.
