Your reaction to gopher's statement leads me to think you have squirreled way a tidy sum in offshore banks.

But to be fair, the assets of rich Dems and Repubs should be treated equally: Seize them all!

That certainly is an option Cliffy.. bear in mind that one is able to pull that stunt once, and only once. All in all, the money never really returns and the economic benefits that are associated with it.

Anyway, back to corporatism; I think global corporations tends to move their operations around according to its own needs rather than those of people. And locally, they tend to pressure gov'ts into acting for them rather than the good of the people. Thusly, they are antisocial entities.

Sure they do Anna, their purpose is to operate as efficiently as possible for the benefit of their shareholders/owners. It is really no different from you (as an individual) in that you seek to maximize the benefit that you receive as a result of your work and/or role in your community.

In addition, when a person or company changes location or relocates elements of their operations it has a beneficial impact on that location to which they have moved.... It is all relative.

You're dead right.... Consider Tim Hortons who recently moved their HQ back to Canada for tax reasons. Who would have ever imagined that there would be tax benefits to operating in Canada as opposed to the USA.

All of the ironies aside, Tim's is an American-owned company and from what I've heard, their recent decision is based on the existing treatment (in the USA) as well as the possible (expected) changes that they believe will result from the new US administration and the potential for the greenback to devalue.
