I think Black is right WRT the media attacks on Trump. The Canadian and US press are hellbent on deriding Trump, focusing only on what they believe will damage him. It is a daily deluge of division. At CNN, Jake Tapper and Erin Burnett are just two of the most vocal anti-trumpers. As newspeople, they should be presenting a balance of news. For them, it's just constant attacks. That makes them part of the problem.

I find the CDN media reporting more balanced than the US, but hardly unbiased.

I believe the US government is in much the same boat. It seems that if Trump had a hand in it, they feel that it must be attacked. While it has always been the job of the opposition to question and propose improvements, the interactions seem to be more heated and hateful.

It just seems petty, and certainly counterproductive. The US has two chambers with mature, educated people sitting in both. Some have been caught up in the media circus and childish behaviour. Ted Lieu is an example of this. He should walk the high road, even if Trump does not. Using Trump as his excuse for acting like an ass is juvenile. My God, if CNN is questioning Lieu's behaviour, what is that saying?

There seems to be a negativity running rampant in the media and some members of the US government. Trump bashing is in. As a result, government is not running properly. Things are still getting done, but if they are positive, or the result of good things that Trump has had a hand in, they are largely ignored by the media. It is an unhealthy hate fixation.

Government and the media should be working to make the US the greatest country in the world. Their message must be positive. Their conduct must be mature and respectful. If they feel President Trump is not presenting a positive image, acting in a similar fashion is not going to help. It only makes things worse.

If the media cannot rise above it, one would hope that the government can.
