Of course ,that's the one! my daughter had it, and after her explanation of how it worked[had to buy expensive items to get the girls to do for you],decided it was too much like real life..all I wanted was a game to take my mind off all the snow!!

My favorite MMRPG computer game right now is www.eternal-lands.com.

It's not all that large (as in number of players) just yet, so there's still plenty of room for new players to grow and climb the ranks fairly quickly.

It runs on both MS-Win and Linux systems, and best of all.... it's FREE! There's a very helpful gaming community as well, from what I've seen so far.

There's a brand new installment in the Elder Scroll series coming and a Call Of Cluthu[sic][Lovecraftean horror] .They both look fantastic. Also,a new FreedomForce vs,The nazi menace[for old comic book fans like me]. Lots of games, but not enough money!!

Although not really on the computer I'm a huge fan of the Final Fantasy Series. I have them all for PSX and PS2, except for FFXI that is. I'm not willing to pay monthly for a game that I purshased.

Back to computer games; When I'm on Windows I like to play Counter-Strike, though now that's shifted towards Counter-Strike: Source. I enjoy the online FPS games a lot as they don't get boring unless you play 24/7, which I don't do.

For the MMRPG's they don't fancy me. I like RPG's a lot but I'm not into multiplayer RPG's.

Right now I'm on Linux so not really caring to much about the computer gaming scene anymore. I could get games to work on Linux though that idea isn't tickling my fancy right now. Maybe later I might come back to that idea, though not now. So all I have left at the moment is my trusty PS2 :).

The MMRPG's have been such a cash cow for developers[Everquest] that every company has gotten into the act.I've picked up games at EB that looked interesting until I saw that "online only" sticker on the box, then put it back on the shelf. I have more than enough RPG's[single player mode] here to keep me happy for years to come. This week,it's Divine Divinity.

Exactly. If the developers made a single player mode I'd buy the game. No single player means no purshase from me. They are all after the big money and MM games are the jackpot for all companies.

That's where Blizzard did it right with Diablo-you can play it as a single player or go online and play the multiplayer game and it was free. Then, they made World Of Warcraft-a MMRPG! I'll never buy another of their products

Yeah Blizzard messed up by not making a single player mode for World of Warcraft. They better not make this a continuing trend because they do make good games.

I saw a note somewhere on the Net that there is a third Diablo in the works, but that most of the original team that worked on the other parts had been scattered all over the game industry. I hope the third does come out,but with better graphics.
