The ape one never got me. The first, second, third, fourth, OR fifth time I've been shown it on the net. lol. But then, being a student of psych, I tend to assume that when someone is asking you to do something, they are really observing a completely different variable than you think, so, I was wary and looking for what the 'trick' was, right from the beginning.
