Clinton touches on Keystone XL, same sex-marriage in Saturday Night Live cameo
Democratic presidential nominee Hilary Clinton made a cameo appearance in the season premiere of Saturday Night Live where she played a bartender who pours a drink for none other than Hilary Rodham Clinton played by SNL regular Kate McKinnon.
Clinton played Val, a bartender in a sketch that touches on several controversial issues including the Keystone XL pipeline, same sex-marriage and frontrunner for the Republican nomination Donald Trump.
“So, Hillary, what brings you here tonight?” Clinton asked McKinnon.
“Well, I needed to blow off some steam,” McKinnon said. “I’ve had a hard couple of 22 years.”
When asked what she does for a living, McKinnon imitates Clinton’s monotone speaking, “First, I am a grandmother. Second, I am a human, entrusted with this one, green Earth.”
“Oh, you’re a politician,” Clinton responded.
As for the character of Val, a deadpan Clinton said, “I’m just an ordinary citizen who believes the Keystone pipeline will destroy our environment.”
