Climate refugees flocking to Tasmania

Australia's most southern state is experiencing an influx of interstate migrants as extreme weather forces many to take drastic action.

Tasmania is receiving an increasing number of 'Climate Refugees'..

And they're proving hot competition in the local property market with people from NSW, Qld or ACT escaping the summer heat to buy property in Tasmania.

No big surprise there. Tasmania is the Nova Scotia of Australia. Quaint, quiet, and much cooler in the summer than the rest of Australia.

This has been happening in Vancouver for years I've posted about it in the past-Saudis seem to be longer terms visitors some staying/buying houses starting business; the shorter terms climate refugees seem to be mainly from Texas although I've met them from almost all the southern US states.

Spreading the bullsh-t like it were vegemite? Flossy, only you would bite into a sh-t sandwich and say it's tasty.

They are fleeing skyrocketing housing prices just like Vancouver, Regina, Saskatoon and Toronto.

Australian housing among the world’s most unaffordable
By John Harris
17 February 2017
A report last month by Demographia showed that Australian housing remains among the most unaffordable in the world, with millions of workers and young people priced out by soaring housing costs. Of the 51 Australian housing markets assessed in the international survey, 33 were deemed severely unaffordable.
The report examined some 400 housing markets across nine countries, using the Median Multiple (MM) formula, obtained by dividing the median house price by the median annual household income. The MM system classifies housing markets as affordable if they score under 3.0. Results of 3.1 to 4.0 are deemed unaffordable, 4.1 to 5.0 seriously unaffordable and over 5.0 severely unaffordable.
Nationally, the Australian housing market scored 5.5. Sydney, the country’s largest population centre, is the second most unaffordable major city in the world, with a MM of 12.2, the same result as 2016 and up from 9.8 in 2015. That means it would take 12.2 years, on a median income, to earn the money to buy a median-priced house.

Yet, you're confused about the failure of capitalism?

Does it matter that they wrote an article based on a study that ranks Sydney 2nd to Hong Kong followed by Vancouver?

The **** are you talking about? Ranking by most unaffordable?

Well no shit. Private property is theft and landlords are out of control right now.

Wow, what an informative and and obviously non-bullsh*t narrative pushing article. Only the flosstard and skynews could consider 4 sentences to be a news article worthy of publishing/sharing. Although there is an accompanying picture but since there's no real context, it could simply be a pic of a local candidate running for public office speaking to a small group of people on the street.

Man, you'll post anything to avoid mentioning Trudeau's vicious use of Canada's deportation laws to deport more people in 18 months than the country has over the last 30-40 years. All of them for lying on their entry papers, even those whose parents filled out their papers because they were still little kids. Well, except for Ms. Monsef of course who not only gets to stay, but gets to keep her nice, cushy Trudeau appointed position. Of course very few of the rash of deportees were convicted criminals, known or convicted terrorists, or any of the other human filth that are allowed to remain because hey, at least they aren't liars or the offspring of liars. It's good to know the morons running this sh*t show know where to draw the line.
