I do not know all the details but Prince Phillip did not get the title of King now did he?

That is because a king has higher standing than a queen so Phillip could not have the title or he would be the sovereign.

Because you are married to the King or Queen does not mean you are immediately
entitled to the Title. There is a process, and credentials that must be considered.

It's a system based just as much on precedent as it is on written law. The wife of a King becomes automatically Queen-consort upon his coronation and this has been the case for a thousand years. So rooted in precedent is this that those in charge of interpreting the UK's constitution have suggested that an act of Parliament would be required in order for Camilla Parker-Bowles to not become Queen. And not just one act of Parliament, but an act of Parliament from every country that shares the British monarchy - a massive international snubbing is what it would be and let's not kid ourselves, it would be very personal.
