Just replying to all this monarchy bashing, ok it was instigated by Blackleaf and his UK propoganda, which is even boring me to high heavens, but apparently I bash the US all the time, so I feel I must defend my country, also I just get fed up, England isn't merely a state, neither is Scotland, neither is Wales or Northern Ireland, so why, unlike every other country in the world do people feel they have to generalise these countries by calling them all "British"...it's ignorance.

I was refering this whole topic, not you Daz.

Yeah it's a very boring topic, but it's just one in a long line of propoganda that irritates me, I don't know how non-English people put up with this, I really don't.

But to the earlier question, my county (and I dont mean Counrty as England, but Wessex)is a very proud one, it's host to Stonehenge, King Alfred the Great, King Canute sat on the beach down the road (really) trying to turn back the tide....but he didn't manage it (remember the story?)....but nope, the Royals are all foreigners anyway (even in the UK), Loydd George (former PM before world war two) called the current king "My little German".....says it all, but the Queen spends most of her time in Scotland, she was born there, as was her mother, Balmoral is pretty much there home, we in the south are just the to sell to the tourists at Buck House, and that's really the only reason they are still here, they makes loads of money in tourism....although, have you seen the wages of Pro Footballers?....not a vast amount more is spent on the royal family these days than them.

Queen Victoria was a "Hanover" (House of Hanover)..

George VI (Elizabeth's Father I think) was a Sax-Coburg-Gotha (he changed it to Windsor - more British
sounding as the former was too European.)

Thus Elizabeth and her family are of the House of Windsor

And the whole stinking lot of those "royal" family should be tossed into the Thames. shame on them all whatever they call themselves. How stupid are we in this country to hold on to that evil system of one family having all this wealth, power and priviledge when they and their ancestors raped and pillaged the working people to sustain their wealth. Elizabeth herself, i refuse to call her my queen" is an incest driven evil woman who married her cousin for God's sake.

OK then, explain to me why they aren't all called British, when they all live on the British Isles.

What does that mean - BRITISH ISLES -

I would like to hear from someone who really knows what they are talking about, not just people

who want to "bash" the royal family, or royalty in general.

I was just this minute listening to two englishmen being interviewed, and one of them

referred to themselves as "Brits",

Any englishmen on this thread who would like to explain this expression, I'm all ears.

1. I am living there right now.

2. I am not simply "bashing" the royal family, they make good comedic value compared to the price of sportsmen.

3. The Royal family is German, not British, Saxe-Cohberg-Gotha, what a charming English/Scottish/Welsh or Irish name.

right, the British Isle thing....just because an group of islands is called this, does NOT mean the inhabitants of said place are named after it...what would you call a Brazillian?, a Brazillian or rather brashly, a South American?....I expect you'd call them south americans as you cannot be bothered to find out what country they are from.

see what I mean?, rude.

And I most certainly do know what I'm talking about, as I say, I can trace the royal Families in England back to Alfred the Great.....although the real King of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and all her territories and dominions overseas is an Australian called Michael Hastings.......FACT
