This is an 18 minute video, shot in 1981, showing what the Cdn Forces was doing in Germany. Or West Germany at the time. I was there when they made this, but they didn't catch me on video.

A year after this was made, the battle commander (1 CAG Commander), Col Frazer, would crash his 104 onto the autobahn. He ejected, but some German civilians were killed. Fraser would go on to become an MP. This is a very short biography that oddly, does not mention the crash.

! CAG stands for 1 Canadian Air Group. This video was made by the National Film Board, but isn't the best quality. It would be nice to find one that isn't so dark and grainy.

My wife had an uncle Ozzy who came from Baden. He emmigrated to Canada because of the base, there and how fond he was of the Canadians. His son ended up in our army as a trooper in Cypress driving a Lynx around.

There are quite a few people that married Canadians and came here. My son in law's mother-in-law is from a small town near CFB Baden.
