It won't be scrapped, they seem to want to give each family 1200 dollars toward child care, but have been very difficult to nail down on what they want to do with the actual credit, they keep talking about tax breaks, whil speaking out of the other side of their mouths about raising taxes

Child care is completely different from the CCTB. That's what I'm wondering about, there is no talk about where the CCTB stands in conservatives, they don't talk about it. My father says that if the Liberals lose the Canada Child Tax Benefit (family allowance) will be gone :(

As a mother of three, I am completely aware that the CCTB is different from Child care; I'm not stupid. Harper, not that I can stand the idiot, has mentioned that the Child care bonus would be given in conjunction with the CCTB, but the total ins and outs of it will not be known until he releases the Conservative fiscal plan

I didn't say you were stupid. I wasn't aware that Harper was going to add a bonus to the CCTB. 1200/year it's not taht much really.

no, it's not much at all. Just supposed to be a "help", of sorts. He's still not getting my vote

And here I was voting for the leader that is not giving out the bonus, I didn't know it was Harper. I voted by mail already - darn too late to change my vote.

No.

It was clearly stated that the $1200 child care benefit would be in addition to the CCTB.

Well that's $100.00/month more that's pretty good then. But I think I voted for the wrong guy LOL too late cuz I voted by mail.

precisely...all about the votes. He's not exactly likeable on his own, without tossing money around

Yeah ... but the polls clearly say who seems to be winning, those scandals have really changed how things look for the liberals. I mean first the sponsorship scandale and now Option Canada Scandal. If it wasn't for that I think Liberals would still be in the lead...

If you read here: http://www.ctv.ca/mini/election2006/static/issues/conservatives.html the $1,200 is for CHILD CARE, for kids under 6, nothing to do with the CCTB and this is the offer from Conservatives.

and if you read here, http://www.ctv.ca/mini/election2006/static/issues/liberals.html the Liberals This year, the Liberal government extended Child Tax Benefit to more families, and also increased the Child Disability Benefit to $2,000 per child, so it's clear that if you want Child allowance Liberals are who you should vote for, if you want chld care for children under 6 vote conservatives.
