Forty-five years ago, Steven Truscott was sentenced to hang for the murder of 12 year-old Lynn Harper. He was just 14, Canada's youngest death row inmate and his trial was one of the most famous and controversial in Canadian history. His sentence was commuted and after spending 10 years behind bars he disappeared to live an anonymous life in southern Ontario. the fifth estate uncovered evidence that showed the case against Truscott was dubious, at best.

Their attempts to find truth and resolution, and figure out which way they should vote, mirror the sentiments of many American as they prepare for the U.S. election.

She also gets a chance to observe scientists, who have devoted their lives to studying birds and their epic migratory journeys. As she listens to the songs of this tiny king, who weighs less than 5 grams, she gains insight into the fragility of our natural world, and begins to call into question that old saying 'free as a bird'.
