No one is paid to take part-some people try for sponsorships by wearing t-shirts or banners and the money helps pay for their booze-and Believe Me it's a pissup like no other even wilder than Canadian native pow-wows.
Note that the band kept playing and if you were in the crowd you'd notice half the people can't even see the goring so much dust/so many people in the way as I said it's a boozefest.
The only horses that die are ones attacked by bulls Yes it does happen but there are lots of horses in Colombia they aren't going to run short any time soon.
I felt more for the white horse than I did for the guy at the start. I lost all respect for that type of bull-fighting when I read they are trying to breed smaller bulls in Spain.
This is still a cool way to fight a bull, a full sized one.
