Catholic vs. Public Schools in Ontario

I met a woman a few months ago who was saying that she was taking her child out of the Catholic school system. She was very frustrated at the fact that she spent most of her time doing homework with her child. She said that the school concentrated too much on religion and not enough on teaching the classes.!

well imagine that! She enrolled her children in a ROMAN CATHOLIC school and the buggers had the nerve to inflict their religion on the poor dears...

They spend the same amount of time teaching the conventional classes as does the public school system In fact, they are legally required to do so.

The expectations and moral climate of the system is higher though, which is as it should be in my opinion.

next thing you know the mulim shcool will be teaching about Islam!!

I am not Catholic but I would consider sending my kids to Catholic high school or for that mater Christian high school because I would want religion to be more that a Sunday experience. If you have a problem with that then you'd stay in the Public system.. For some of us we believe the problem with the pupblic system is exactly the lack of religon, respect and any calling to a higher being than oneself.

There is a big hole in our society that many try to fill with entertainment, excitement and stuff...but it's much to big to fill with that...Anyone who knows God understands this. Anyone who doesn't likley knows they have a empty hole ...
