What network do you watch to get your news? Do you find any particular network is bias to either the left or right? What about news anchor's?

"News?" Well, I usually watch the CBC news shows; in my opinion, they sometimes view the Grits in more of a "favourable" light, shall we say — not blatently so, mind you, it may not be intentional, but I would assert that there is a certain amount of bias there.
However, I far prefer the "news" programs on CPAC. In my opinion, they are the least biased programs on television, for the most part.

i actually don't "watch" any newsmedia. I rely on web publications (of newspapers) for my sources and i tend to look at a variety of sources.
As far as Canadian news is concerned, I watch both CBC and CTV. Like FiveParadox, I find the CBC to be moderately biased towards the Liberals. I also think that CTV has been a little biased towards the Conservatives on the run-up to this election, but that's mostly been on their political talkshows hosted by Mike Duffy (although I can't really blame him, if anyone else saw that Duffy vs. Duffy exchange from the other night you know what I'm talking about).

I agree with the CBC being "liberal biased", there is no question except what level of bias they run on. I have rarely seen a Conservate Party announcement live on CBC for some reason, but I have viewed many Liberal announcements. Also on shows such as the Passionate Eye and others CBC programs thay just seem all to willing to put out conspiracy theories without, and anti US and Conservative spin.
CTV I belive is the most balanced (they allow both Liberal and Conservatives live announcements)....but I do admit I have seen a bit of a Tory shift which has taken place during this campaign. Mike Duffy does have a bit of bias on his show, but I agree that some of it is quite logical.
I also like CPAC for unbiased coverage and you really get a feel for what Canadians think on this channel. However for a nightly newscast I usually watch CTV.....

WE cannot trust the mass media, since it is owned by corporate monopolys that promote their own best interests.
We can get a reasonable picture of the truth if we look to all sources like internet and so on, and compare , dissect, reject and scrutinise. We've come a long way since "if its in the newspapers it must be true".... at least I hope we have. Trust no One.
Sometimes, although it is rare, the CBC lets prominant people with an alternative view speak their minds.
Last night, Dr.Daid Suzuki said something like :
We cant just fool ourselves and believe that the rising CANCER rates are not from fossil fuel pollution, and so that is the other big reason to reduce our fossil fuel emissions [other than Kyoto and Global Warming] .
Not many have said those magic words ]"must reduce fossil fuel use and emissions"] on live TV. Not one American inside America has heard those words plainly like that over mass media airwaves, it is just not spoken in that 'great and free nation'.
So by bits and pieces, we can see the truth. Its not pretty, and that alone, sadly, keeps 50% of us from believing the "alternative-to-corporate-culture media" 's view of the world.

On the CBC a couple days ago I remember they were trying to portray the Conservative Party as the more American Party.......its the subtle but constant bias I see on the CBC which turns me off. Only since this election campaign have I started watching the National on CBC.......just so I can see what the folks around Canada, especially the Liberals in Southern Ontario watch... this probably has something to do with the Liberals having such a stronghold down there..
Hank C - I don't know if it's an ideological bias so much as the CBC execs know who butters their bread... and it's the Canadian government. Being publically funded, they're heavily dependent on the government of the day, and hence they have a natural tendency to show bias towards that government (particularly if it's a government that doesn't appear to be heading out of power any time soon).
I remember back during the 2000 federal election, the CBC had very fair coverage for the first few days of the campaign, leading to greater than normal criticism showed towards the Liberals. Then the Liberals complained about it. Then the CBC backed off for the rest of the campaign.
As such, I think that simple self-preservation is what drives any CBC bias over and above any partisanship, or ideological views.

Then maybe
The Globe and mail (Centre-right, right)
and if I don't get what I want.
Now Mag (Left)
and then for fun
The people's voice (far loonie left)
and then if I want to see the Sun shine girl and laugh at totally biased opinion's and retards
The Sun (retard right)
For news papers, I read mostly the following

I get quite a range of opinions and views. It helps me filter the news and makes sure i get a wide range of viewpoints.
Of them all, the CBC National News is my favorite.
For print news, i read the Edmonton Journal..and occasionally the Globe and Mail. I will glance at the National Post or Edmonton Sun..but both papers are crap.
I don't listen to radio news except for the blurbs between the hours.
At 7, i switch to CBC Newsworld, which is my fave of all the newscasts.

In the morning, i watch CityTV.

BBC tends to give a balanced view on the world I find. CNN.... errr, not so much.
Also I'm not sure about CityTV, as I used to watch it but as I've grown older I found a growing slant to how they deliver there news. Much like Foxnews another network I won't watch for news.

News is now just another form of entertainment with a dual-purpose of distraction from truth, with a little brainwashing thrown in. It's not about telling the news, but getting us to except a reality, and polarize the masses opinion on views so that they focus on trivial unimportant facts of life, and don't pay attention to the crumbling estate of world affairs concerning the environment, social, and economic systems to keep capitalism thriving and the elite in power. The media is the perfect tool for creating the allusion of freedom, but we've all become slaves to ideology, and have been coerced into abondoning who we are as a people, in exchange for ease of living, and the bliss of a clear conscience through ignorance.

But it does appear we will be governed by a new (old) party this time around.
My question if his government will be starting out with a popularity of 35-40%, hmmmm Any bets on how fast that support will drop if he starts doing cut backs to social programs and tax brecks to big corperations?
Lets hope for a moderate Conservative government. =-D

A newsfeed aggregator or reader is a program that allows you to search and track content from various websites that offer XML RSS Feed. It reduces surf time, by basically importing the news you want onto your desktop.
