It's cool that there is a whole forum dedicated to food....mmm...

When I was in New Zealand I went to a hongi, where they bury their dinner in pits too. They even managed to fit a sticky treacle pudding in there!

Pan-fried or saute'd Walleye with baked potatoe and onions, and baked beans. Northern pike deep fried nuggets with above potatoes and beans. Baked rainbow trout wrapped in bacon with stuffing, more potatoes and beans. Moose roast with baby potatoes and baby carrots. Venison sausage with eggs and homefries. All can be done in cast iron skillet over a good fire.
