And he's so so nice (and he's pretty adorable too!). He came out and started to sign autograph right after the show and took the time to talk with everyone. I bought a poster of his tour so he could sign it and again I was very shy but managed to tell him how much I loved the show and that I loved the new songs he played.

Oh, I'm so happy for you!! I know how much you were loving him. That's great. :)

Deer! What's up with all the deer?

Is it really true that the tee was designed by Lizzie? I heard this somewhere. Why is she designing their merch?? Having seen the merch up close (in fact, one of the women I hung out with bought the hoodie), I didn't like it much. I suppose they had to whip up something fast, but none of it is interesting or good looking. I actually think I could design some better stuff.

So what do you think of "Perfect."? I like the song, but I don't really love it - I kind of feel this about the whole album. Do you like Hedley as much as ever? I still like them, but its seems like something is missing, lately.

I liked Perfect a lot - like a year ago - now I kinda want to poke my own eyes out when it comes on the radio. ;) No offense to Perfect it's just been WAY overplayed here.. I'll like it again some day. I like Shelter and the Sweater song a lot, and Friends is very campfire singalong (LOL) and I have the itunes sessions - which I still like. Hands up I like since they've started playing it on the radio - I didn't like it when I got the album. It's one that grew on me.

I've liked some of the songs they've been playing various places, like Beautiful and Gypsy song and the one that I don't know the name of.

The album as a whole.. I don't listen to it that much. I don't have all their albums. I have this one, and I have I think the 1st one? (which my sister bought for me btw) And some assorted songs. I probably would have done the pick and choose song thing again on itunes but their album came out the same day as Kris's .. and I felt guilty.. LOL since I bought Kris's itunes pass and then bought a hard copy too. So I went all in.

I like them though, and wish them well. I think Jake's a great live performer, and the radio and interview stuff I love. They sound good live.. which isn't always the case with bands. lol

Didn't Kris do the elephant T? It's probably cheaper.

Myabe. But it seems kind of chintzy not to have somebody with a little design sense try to do a decent design. js. Anyhow they'd sell more if it lookled better (Hedley's merch kinda sucks, as well, btw).

ross, I know you don't like Glee, but I know you'll want to watch this:

Haha! Thanks. That was fun. :)

So when do we get to know what the super-secret surprise is? (I'm assuming that wasn't it.)

(Incidentally... what does Kris have to do for Jim to say he's one of his three favorite Idols?? Never mind. I don't want to know.)

Interview with Kris from 94 Rock

Big hug through the phone.

Re: voting on Sophie's challenge. Kris won yesterday and is now up against Santana/Daughtry. And is winning that.

I think this is all really interesting considering there is only one vote per IP address. I wish more contests and polls only let you vote once a day. For better or worse, I think I'd enjoy that.

Regarding Hedley...it's not that the bloom is off the rose for me with Hedley, or anything. I don't know why I haven't been too interested in The Show Must Go, but I guess it has a lot to do with the first two songs I heard, Cha Ching, and Don't Talk To Strangers. I didn't end up playing them much. Then I didn't get interested in the album, due to my lack of interest in those songs. I like Perfect but even though it's pretty it leaves me slightly cold. The falsetto ends up seeming kind of gimmicky when you listen to the song a lot. And kind of unpleasant.

The other thing is that my interest in Kris has overtaken my interest in Jacob.

That was it.

Me too. If Chris wins it's okay, (but although I like Def Leopard .. not so crazy about that version truthfully) and if Kris wins I'd be okay too. (Yes, yes, I would.. surprising I know, lol) I think the poll being 3 days the first day.. drove everyone nuts, especially since it was the first poll really to show up.

Did you hear Kris and Cale's version of Stuck in a Moment? Sooo good. I love that song, it always makes me sad though since Bono wrote it about Michael Hutchence. But, that's kind of the point. So beautiful.

The Show Must Go, but I guess it has a lot to do with the first two songs I heard, Cha Ching, and Don't Talk To Strangers.

And those songs are the least like the rest of the album.

The other thing is that my interest in Kris has overtaken my interest in Jacob.

Kris is brilliant. Don't blame ya. ;)

Okay I'm listening to Stuck in a Moment again and again.. I'm stuck. So good. SOOOO GOOOOD.

Kris you just have great taste in music full stop.

I think the Sweater Song is okay until the end, when Jacob sounds more leering than loving. I think it would have been a better song if he had allowed himself to be sentimental. A deeper song. It could have been about love, but as it is it's just about screwing.

Anyhow, the songs just don't grab me totally. They're kind of slick. Third albums often seem to have this problem. Ever notice?

If Chris wins it's okay, (but although I like Def Leopard .. not so crazy about that version truthfully) and if Kris wins I'd be okay too.

Kris is ahead by 94% so I don't think he's going to lose that one.

Hey...it's Def Leppard.

Are you even SERIOUS that Jim's "super secret surprise," that he said was #worthwaitingfor, was that song??? How are you so sure? Did he say so? If so that was the biggest letdown ever.

With Blackbird kids: All You Need Is Love

Meanwhile in the "plaid that will not die" dept.

Kris returned to the plaid tonight. :(

Oh, I think that song is sappy as all hell. But that's what I like about it. :) Strummy, sappy, good times.

Yep, he answered someone on twitter that it was the surprise. I think people were making a bigger deal out of the surprise angle than he actually said. He said a surprise he didn't say that it would make CNN or anything. :) It was a nice surprise.

Stuck in a Moment tho. :) :) :) paintedblaq - Watch my video on #twitvid - TwitVid

Nah. I'm sorry, but you can't say people were making a bigger deal than he said. He was the one who made it sound like a big deal. But it wasn't. People believed he was sincere. If he exaggerated in order to get people to pay attention to him, that's his problem, not theirs.

There was nothing "super-secret" or "super-amazing" or "too good to even hint at" or "super duper amazing" or "awesome sauce" about that. You're right, it was a "nice surprise." But that's not what he said.

Thanks to @KrisAllen for an EPIC never-before-heard tour story, a killer acoustic performance AND a super-secret super-amazing surprise.
@Melanie_RF Hmmm. No. It's too good to even hint about. You'll get some interview this week. Some awesome sauce next week.
@damitman nope. that super duper amazing surprise is gonna sneak up on you when you least expect it. it'll be awhile. don't get greedy!!!
@namasteGrace @usatodayidol I never said it was "news." Just that it was a surprise.

Yeah, I agree - that's a nice shirt - I really like it, a lot, too. But, gee, I haven't usually been the one to say he should ditch the plaid - it was you guys. I thought I was just agreeing with you. Anyhow, I don't think a slight, non-plaid makeover is a bad thing, right now. Unfortunately, selling pop music involves image, as much as, if not more than, music. I didn't make the world! js

A good review for Kris from a person who seems to have no biases.

"This was my first exposure to Kris Allen, as American Idol lost me a couple seasons back, but I have to say.... the boy has got some mad talent. Talk about an incredible vocal range."

I like the plaid! I don't think I ever said that he shouldn't wear it, especially shirts like this one which are colorful and fit him well. Maybe if he wears the same shirt over and over, but he doesn't seem to do that anymore. And most musicians I listen to wear plaid, so I can't really say anything, LOL!

That's a nice review indeed!

I love that review actually. L.O.V.E.

and Stuck on a Moment is so gorgeous. I really can't stop playing it. And it's a song that already lives on my ipod as a U2 song. I already love that song, but this version is beautiful.

Nah. I'm sorry, but you can't say people were making a bigger deal than he said. He was the one who made it sound like a big deal. But it wasn't. People believed he was sincere.

I do think he was sincere. He just talks in exclamation points when he's promoting. (which is his job - he wants people to watch it afterall) It works too.

I like the plaid when he varies it. The idol tour was the same plaid shirt everyday.. and then he switched to a blue one. *slaps head* Work it into a rotation and it's all good. LOL But yeah, a lot of my favourite musicians are a sea of plaid. :)

I think it's hard to call leading fans on with false hype sincere, but since we aren't going to agree, let's drop it.

Yikes, sorry to have seemed abrupt, but it was 9:00 and they were shutting the lights off at work (where I am, until 9:00, on Thursdays). I had intended to write more than that.

Don't get the idea I think Jim did anything horrible. I don't think that. I just think it was tricky, and a fake-out. Leading people on. Whatever. It's not a big, huge, deal. I just think you shouldn't do stuff like that to your friends. And I think we're his friends, in a way. I don't know how else to put it. Obviously you feel differently, SleepinIn, and I respect your right to feel differently.

Holy crap, Kris and his band played the reggae NoBo tonight. I hate that friggin' song but I guess we have not heard the last of it. He has a great sense of humor, but the fact is, he successfully made me forget all about that crap song, and now it's back. That little dude has some big balls. lol

MOD is not dead! Thank God!!! That means Adam and his fans will have a platform to promote his music in Canada for YEARS AND YEARS TO COME!!! (Now in stunning HD.) I'm so happy. So happy...

He may regret doing this! If he makes it popular then he'll have to sing it from now on.

Do you remember Jacob and the band doing the reggae version of Gunnin.? It was pretty good! Gunnin' lent itself to reggae-ization. NoBo is tougher.
