Well, if you're going to be all fair and "time will tell," and all that, fine. lol But seriously, I feel Lee himself, and Lee's music, are not the stuff dreams are made of. I did say he would do well, after all. But forgive me if I want more out of music than "radio friendly," "pretty," etc. I think something should thrill you. I believe it was Ricky Minor who called Kris the "quiet storm." Lee is like "cloudy, with chance of rain."

"Cloudy, with chance of rain", LOL!

I like Lee okay, but I can't say that I find him exciting. And I certainly don't find him attractive (I like the slug analogy actually). Well, I guess I thought he was somewhat cute at first, but that impression faded out pretty quick. I do believe he has some potential though, because I think he's really authentic. Yes, he's not a fascinating personality, but at least, I do feel his music comes from the heart. But if his whole album is like that song, well, I won't be buying it... zzzzz.

I think you're right. Lee is authentic, and his music comes from the heart. I think his looks are pretty good because he has good eyes and a good smile, but his personality is just okay. To me there's something slug-like about him! But I don't really care about him one way or the other, so I'm a pretty bad judge. I'm pretty amazed he played for such a big crowd, and even more amazed he sat for the entire concert. I think some of the lyrics of his songs, that I read on another forum, are kind of insipid or simplistic. Another negative for me is his voice when he sings in his higher register - I just don't like the sound. On the plus side I think he has a good sense of rhythm.

Is he the first Idol winner who's not from the South?

LOL at least there is a chance.

LOL.

Lee also seems to have very little opposition from any faction of the Idol fans - such as Kris had from many Adam fans last year - as you can tell by looking at the MJ's thread from his (Lee's) concert in Illinois. What a difference, not to read all the sour grapes.

MIGGS will be touring with GRO (Seems I read about that before. Did I?):

No one really cared one way or another.

I think that will help him when he puts out the album since no one is going to be posting diatribes about Chick-fil-a and what not. But, then again, no one cared. Diatribes mean that you care. Diatribes against Kris meant that someone saw him as a threat.

3D Queen is on again..

Is this show really supposed to be four hours??

I wasn't really talking about conspiracy theorists, I meant bitchiness, put-downs, sarcasm. It's not real opinions; I think it's meant to be demoralizing. Even now I see a lot of Kris's fans who seem afraid to talk positively about him because of the online bullying.

Not that there's much to be done about it.

3D Queen is on again..

What is that? I have no idea. :(

The show is Oct. 3, and starts at 7 pm... not between 3 and 7 pm!

Yeah, Lee is very much non-polarizing. Everything will really depend on the music he puts out in his case, I think.

Is Missouri considered the South? I thought it was more considered the Midwest. David is from Kansas City. I think Jordin is not from the south either.

They're doing meet-and-greets too though right? Maybe that's why 3...?

One the bases radio stations - can't remember which one - advertised free tickets on Facebook and someone asked if the show is available to non-military personel. The answer was if you know someone who will sign you onto the base you can attend.

What is that? I have no idea.

LOL - missaddicted and I were laughing about it the other day. It's the Queen's coronation from 1953 which the CBC is broadcasting in 3D - it was filmed in 3D back in the day - one of the first 3D films.

So yay - 3D sequences of crowds and garden parties, LMAO. What even. I actually watched it this time (sorta - it was on in the background) Put your glasses on, take your glasses off, put your glasses on, take your glasses off.

Thanks, missaddicted. I don't know how I ever made my way in the world without your assistance! But it's just how my mind works, or something - when I look at the poster, "3 - 7" just jumps out at me. I didn't really read the rest.

This is something that's often debated. Google

I think Jordin is from Arizona - not the South, but at least, the Southwest. I guess I was referring to what I read once, that the singer in the Top 2 who's from the farthest South always wins. So I was thinking that the pattern may have been broken with Lee and Crystal. They're both from Northern states and I don't know who is from the northernmost city.

Haha. So when you posted that, originally, you just assumed I would know what you were talking about!! Where does everyone get the 3D glasses to watch it?

Whaaat?! The amount of negativity towards Kris is almost nothing compared to the magnitude of negativity that Lee has received from Idol fans and the media :confused2:. MJ moderates and deletes comments that stir up fan wars that's why you don't see many comments bashing Lee on her blog. If you go to other Idol related blogs and forums then you can find lots of Idol fans bashing him.

Her rule is that you can criticize the idols as much as you want, but not your fellow posters. People are free to bash Lee or any other idol all they want. As long as they don't start fan wars, it's okay. That would involve arguing about who is better or should have won, Crystal or Lee, for ex. MJ doesn't delete critical comments about Idols. I've read plenty of them about Kris on her blog, so she obviously didn't delete them. I'm sure other people can corroborate this.

I doubt MJ deleted critical posts about Lee on the thread about his recent Chicago show. There just weren't many.

Lee does get a lot of crap from media and bloggers (and sometimes me strangely enough, lol). He didn't set the world on fire for me this year, but I do think he's got talent and potential. It's yet to be seen if he lives up to it. But, I actually prefer Lee to a whole LOT of AI contestants - OMG the early years were so bad. I'd take Lee over almost everyone besides Kelly on season one for instance.

I'm not talking about one particular thread. I've read tons of critical comments about Lee on her site and other Idol-related sites. He seems to be considered as the most undeserving winner of American Idol to date. As for his Chicago show, I think people are surprised that he could draw over 20000 people.

Okay, CapsuleNeo, I'm not going to argue further about it. You took exception to what I said, so I guess you proved your point, according to the way you see it. Basically, I was talking about a certain type of criticism - posts directed at Kris from the same group of Lambert fans, over and over. If Lee has been criticized, it's not from one vindictive faction, that I've ever noticed.

Battle of the Blades on CBC (figure Skaters + Hockey Players + dance sequences) just used For Your Entertainment multiple times when the skaters meet and practice - Canada really loves Adam. Too funny.

How come I'm not laughing? :(

Have we ever established why it is that Canada really loves Adam? Theories, anyone?

No idea. (Well I like him, but it seems like Canada is a bit obsessed) And actually FYE was a hit here, so it's not that strange that they'd use it.. plus hockey players doing dance moves.. pretty entertaining stuff.

also this is a bit stalker-y - but hey.

People like artists for different reasons. A fanbase is made up of individuals. Many of Adam’s fans outside the U.S. are not even “American Idol watchers”. He is popular in Australia now, but Aussies didn't watch him on Idol. He has gained fans there because his songs have been getting radio play. Getting radio play is the most important aspect of introducing a new artist to world.

Anyway, here is this week's Top 10 of Idol Airplay chart (source: USA Today.com).

1 1 Adam Lambert, If I Had You (7809) (#18 Hot AC, #16 Top 40)
2 2 Daughtry, September (7117) (#13 AC, #3 Hot AC, #30 Top 40)
3 3 Fantasia, Bittersweet (3773) (#18 Urban)
4 4 Adam Lambert, Whataya Want From Me (3747) (#10 AC)
5 7 Carrie Underwood, Undo It (3588 ) (#34 Hot AC)
6 9 Carrie Underwood, Mama's Song (3581) (#18 Country)
7 8 Kelly Clarkson, Already Gone (3567)
8 5 Daughtry, Life After You (3540) (#6 AC)
9 6 Kris Allen, Live Like We're Dying (3334)
10 10 Carrie Underwood, Before He Cheats (2206)
