On, the subject of covers or no covers, I have the same opinion as SleepinIn. I love the covers, but I'd also like to hear the other songs from the album played live.

But. At some point I need to hear 'I Need to Know' live.. or I will cry.

For me, it's Bring It Back. Still one of my favorites from the album with AWM and BWCU. I'd also like to hear From the Ashes live, I really love that one too.

David Cook was at a Better Than Ezra foundraising event yesterday. The band started a foundation whose mission is this: "to commit funding towards the renewal of the structural and cultural heritage of New Orleans and Southern Louisiana." It was in New Orleans and there was bowling involved:

YouTube - David Cook Bowls - 2010 Ezra Open - New Orleans - March 27, 2010

And there was a concert (Megan Joy was there too apparently) David performed with Better Than Ezra on their song Absolutely Still (I love that song!):

YouTube - Better Than Ezra & David Cook-Absolutely Still-Harrah's Casino-3-27-10

(Not optimal sound, I'll keep checking for videos.) He also performed his song Avalanche solo (he co-wrote that song with Kevin Griffin from Better Than Ezra) and also, Living On A Prayer. No videos for these yet.

David and Neal are also leaving for Africa today, to film their part for Idol Gives Back in Ethiopia.

The Pigott bros sound sooo good together! Oliver makes funny faces when he sings, lol.

Top Idol's latest post:

Being in an Idol favorite’s band has its, uh, benefits? | Top Idol

I don't really have an opinion one way or another about the gift to Adam's bandmate, but the Andy Skib tattoo? I saw that picture earlier this week (because Andy himself re-tweeted it!) and it freaked me out. I believe the girl/woman who got it is around my age. What happens in 5 or 10 years if she changes idols, or musical preferences? What happens if she meets a guy who asks her why she has a tattoo of a guy she doesn't even know on her shoulder? Tattooing favorite lyrics on your body, that I think it's cool. A guy's face? A guy you don't even know? And the tattoo is huge!

ETA: And Andy just re-tweeted this:

RT @tawneej: @adamlambert Adam! You should get a tattoo of @andyskib. http://bit.ly/avHokz That'd be awesome! // would it?

Some people are strange.

I wonder where's Idolatry? Slezak has been M.I.A all weekend. I want Idolatry, lol!

Andy tweets this:

Hey all you Nashvillians, I'm playing a couple acoustic songs @ The Basement Tuesday night at 7:30. come and have a beer!

Then, a couple of minutes after, Neal tweets this:

Hey all you Ethiopians, come on down - I'm playing some acoustic songs with my friend Dave tomorrow or the next day!

Oh, so wrong, but oh, so Neal! LOL.

I don't know what to say about the gift. I don't really care. For myself, I'm really against this kind of fandom, but, hey, it's a free country. I know some fans of a Canadian Idol who buy him gifts, and I would never contribute to anything like that. I was actually really surprised to discover that fans get together and spend substantial money on gifts for performers. When it goes beyond a nice card, or a token of some kind that costs a few bucks, or a cake, or something, I just think it's a bit sick. Pretentious, anyway. I mean, gifts worth a few thousand dollars. I don't know why I feel this strongly about it. I guess I don't feel I owe a performer money or gifts. Being a fan is usually enough to give.

As for the tattoo, it's ugly. But it's her body (such as it is). The removal in a few years will be painful!

ETA: I guess I agree with some posters on TI who seem to think the Adam fans are trying to buy something for themselves with their gift. Entree, or favor, or love, or whatever. Maybe not consciously. This band has only been together a few months, after all. How much real "fan love" can fans have for a band member they never heard of a few months ago? I mean it can't go too deep.

Yes, I feel that way as well. Especially now that illegal downloading is so widespread, I feel like buying someone's music and going to their shows is the best thing a fan can do for their favorite artists.

Good point about the downloads.

Artists or bands usually say stuff like, "We owe everything to our fans." I don't even think it's just about money. It's even about how fans give support, approval of the artist's work, and even spread the word to other people.

Top Idol is a different take on everything, isn't it? It's way too nasty, and crazy, but it's sort of refreshing sometimes. I mean, just to see people allowed to say what they want. It's sort of liberating. Sometimes it's an antidote to the other kind of blog where people are covertly nasty, passive-agressive, and imply everything without coming out and saying it.

The way I feel about this stuff is, concerts are about entertainment, not singing every song off your album. So I think Kris is aware his album is a little less upbeat than one of his concerts should be, so he wisely avoids throwing all those instrospective ballads at the audience at one sitting -- songs many of the audiences at his concerts are totally unfamiliar with, and probably aren't going to absorb at one sitting, anyway. He'll probably do most of them eventually, but give him a chance to win audiences over with some showstoppers like Heartless/Gangstas Paradise. Not a lot of his album songs are "wow" songs, entertainment-wise. The ones that are, he's been doing, plus throwing in a few of the more introspective ones. The audiences seem to be liking it. But these are concerts, and people do need to rock out at concerts.

I don't know what that MTV vote is, but I voted so much on VH1 last week I don't think I'm even going to look at it. I'm through voting for a while.

There's one photo where Kris looks like an experienced shoe salesman.

I think that's another guy. The sideburns are too short. :) If it's the picture I think you mean. Maybe not.

Guess who... I think this page looks cool - lol - video doesn't work for me, but whatever.

I agree! Page looks cool.

Your first link didn't work for me, SleepinIn. :(

Glad you guys are here. I thought I was alone tonight.

Did you read the post on MJ's where one of the prime Kris h8rs described his interviews as passive-agressive, and frustrated? I think the poster was describing herself rather than Kris. lol

Aww, but that's cruel, Kris already lost to Adam (from what I could see).

Yep, sadly Kris went down in flames along with Coldplay, Kings of Leon and U2. Good company though. They can sit on the music bench and watch Adam take on Alice in Chains.

Your first link didn't work for me, SleepinIn.

Aw! Too bad. It's the same pictures though, just more Kris/Katy rather than the others. Try this.

Photos: Kris & Katy Allen Pass Out Shoes In Rwanda

I've voted on VH1 too. LOL

Glad you guys are here. I thought I was alone tonight.

Had a meeting - blech :(

I think the poster was describing herself rather than Kris. lol

Sounded to me like Eve ventured away from TWOP (since Kris's thread is locked) and needed somewhere to spread nonsense about Kris. David seems to have been dragged into it too.

Interesting I was just reading The Barenaked Ladies twitter and they include a copy of their album with a ticket price. So if you buy tickets to their shows you automatically get their album from itunes. A really interesting idea. I wonder how it will work.

Eve. lol

I guess Adam complained about the repetitive questions he was being asked by the media, and he got flak for being a prima donna. As somebody on another forum pointed out recently, whenever Adam is having a bad news day, his fans start attacking Kris. (And probably Cook, too.) Diversionary tactics.

Alex is talking to producers of that damn house. LOL Honest to god it's gonna get me if they snag Alex. I'll be sitting here waiting for him to sing online. It's not a good idea. Say No Alex - for me.

Wow, that's a big opportunity for him.
