MJ's blog is all about the "singles sales vs album sales" thing, yet again. I wrote something there I've wanted to say for a long time but now I forgot how I wrote it. I didn't mention Kris or Adam, but my underlying feeling when I wrote what I wrote (you can read it if you care to wade through the novel-length posts, over there) was that Adam has sold a lot of albums due to the hype, the free publicity he's gotten, and due to his extreme visibility. But Kris has sold singles because people like his single. And Adam has sold singles for the same reason, I think. People usually buy singles after hearing them on the radio or online, or on TV, or somewhere. I'm not sure people always hear albums before they buy them.
So at this point I think the sales of LLWD and WWFM are actually strong indicators that people enjoy listening to Kris and Adam. I don't think album sales are necessarily indicators of that. The chances of buying a first album and not even liking it are pretty good (I own quite a few of those). But buying a single...well, why would you, if you didn't like it?
