They must have had a pretty good amount of coverage here, missaddicted. Because I remember it ( I wasn't following AI, or the Davids, then). I thought there were stories about the concerts, and the crazy, screaming fans, on the entertainment shows. I think so, anyhow.

You were following AI since it happened last may, a few days before Kris was crowned as the Idol! (I might have even talked about it here.) Anyway, it might have had a bit of coverage, especially on the Idol blogs or sites, but it was not a lot at all. And the only images they must've had were images taken by fans there. They did appear in some media there, but that didn't make a wave here at all.

More importantly, what I meant is, yes those fans there are important (and I did say in my post that it was a nice thing to do for the fans there), but in the U.S. (where the market for his music is way way bigger), this appearance won't make him, the album, or LLWD more or less popular. So I guess I don't believe that these concerts are important to establish him, maybe give him a bit of a boost there, but not here. In any case, the most important thing I believe is that he'll do great no matter what.

His trip to Haiti might make him more popular here, but of course, there's no way I believe that he's doing this for publicity.

So from your reply I gather you read all those posts on Top Idol, SleepinIn? LOL

Why yes, I did. ;)

going to Haiti to get publicity for himself

Because Kris is ALL about publicity, right? Seriously, it's like pulling teeth to get him to admit anything about his life. Much less Kris does good stories. Although, we all seem to know it anyway thanks to his friends, lol. Thanks friends for looking out for him. :) And I do mean that - he has nice friends.

Okay this person was a little grumpy but I liked what they had to say. Scroll down to the last message - guess Boston is playing it now. :)

Pulse Music Board - Kris Allen - "Live Like We're Dying"

Speaking of Boston, now Trugs is picking on Boston. He's gonna run out of real estate soon.

And this is just cool.

Interesting tweets between a Kris fan and CHUM DJ - they're getting my hopes up damnit.

@1045CHUMFM OK fav, I need the truth why won't Chum play Kris Allen? I heard Adam today, that's great but so is KA, just in a different way.

@mcdeallover Ya! Did you see Kris sing the national anthem at the football game last night? It was awesome. - Fav

I have officially taken a break from that blog for a while. At least a day! I need some fresh air.

Those poor people who feel threatened by Kris. They're really depressing. I know why they feel that way, I guess. They feel threatened because he doesn't care what they think. I think that's what it is, anyway.

Also, some people, who aren't all that nice, don't get how some people really are nice. It makes them feel insecure for some reason and they need to attack.

reading the Top Idol thread at the moment.

I just answered the person over there briefly.

It's nice that they don't get censored too much over there, kind of refreshing. I don't blame them for feeling they need to go somewhere and criticize the stupid stuff. But on the other hand, I think they give it too much importance. I prefer how we, here, try to talk about the stuff we like about our favorites, and get some enjoyment out of the experience. Because just being bitter and sarcastic (though it can be hilarious) gets old fast.

Still, I have to say, after reading some of that crap about Kris and Haiti, or the NA, you-know-where, yesterday, it was a lot of fun to read that Top Idol stuff and kind of feel validated.

SleepinIn, it's interesting you linked to that forum where they discussed how LLWD wasn't getting Clear Channel adds. Today on the blog I read that it finally did get some Clear Channel adds. Did you read that?

That video was cool. Someone did a similar one to Alright With Me, using the Worcester performance for the visuals, but the album version on the soundtrack. I was going to link to it but forgot.

Every time I see "bearded guy" in videos from the tour, I wonder if he gave Kris my gift (I gave it to him to give to Kris). I wonder where all those gifts are, now??

Yeah, I agree ross, the sarcasm can get old fast, but when the Glamberts say insanities like they said yesterday and today, I like reading a blog post like the ones Top Idol wrote.

Me to, me too!!! And I like the comments, as well. It's too weird how the big AI blog allows freakish tards to say anything they want, but anti-tard comments like the ones posted on Top Idol would be deleted. (Saying crap is allowed but calling it crap isn't.)

I'm going to look at your link, now.

It's funny. Sometimes some Glamberts appear on the "other Idols" thread on DCO (it's mainly dicussion of Kris and Adam though). They mostly get deleted really fast. Today, people were saying that the "Rockstar Weekly" magazine is in fact a "magazine" started by two Adam fans (and Guns & Roses fans too apparently) that invents news or whatever. Their next edition is an Adam Lambert special edition (I think SleepinIn posted the cover). So people were calling them out on DCO saying that they had no credibility. And whataya know, a new poster called RockstarWeekly posted this on the thread:

Hi everyone,
I had noticed that someone posted that RockStar Weekly was started by Adam Lambert fans and is an Adam Lambert magazine.
Actually, RockStar Weekly started as a metal site covering such bands as Slayer and Megadeth and was started by a KISS fan. After a short time, we opened up the music format to let it breathe a little, becoming more of an overall rock site. In doing so, we met some Adam Lambert fans that had some great stories to share. We decided to post articles on Adam, simply because he performed with KISS and Queen on Idol, so the stretch really wasn't that hard to see for the metal fans.
More and more Adam fans started popping up and we started to see the passion - both good and bad - that the fans had for him. We held a contest to find 10 fans and publish a magazine of the results. In the end, the contest idea sparked something different and the result was the Adam "special" publication that is currently being offered. We just found the fans rather interesting and he is a damn good vocalist for the style he sings in.
The next one, coming in March is for Guns N' Roses.
We love David Cook (and actually watched as far back as the first AI audition), but unfortunately 19 Entertainment has been poor at promoting him and material is harder to come across.
Anyone want to help out with Cook news? We'd be excited to run good and informative stories and updates.
Come by and check us out some time.

Adam Lambert and Metal in the same sentence?

Then another regular poster replied to them, calling them out once more (of course, the previous poster might just have been a Glambert who came passing by to defend the credibility of their favorite magazine, who knows?):

Oh, hello Dan and Avril of Vancouver, Canada. I mean: Rockstar Weekly!
After a short time, we opened up the music format to let it breathe a little, becoming more of an overall rock site.
Hmm. Public web domain registration records show you went up in Spring, 2009;
So it didn't take long to proceed from Megadeth to Adam Lambert.
simply because he performed with KISS and Queen on Idol, so the stretch really wasn't that hard to see for the metal fans.

Wait, what? You seem a little vague on the notion of metal. QUEEN and KISS? Metal? WTF?
Are Guns N Roses a metal act, too? I see you have a lot of info on them, too.
unfortunately 19 Entertainment has been poor at promoting him and material is harder to come across
You mean . . . by not soliciting fans stories for ze special edition fanzines? And contests on Vancouver area blogs?
Anyone want to help out with Cook news? We'd be excited to run good and informative stories and updates.
Uh . . . sure. So, we could send in fan-written stories, then quote them back to other sites as "news?" Or, we could send you a poll about whether David Cook is the MOST AMAZING SINGER OF THE LAST 40 YEARS and then go to your site and vote in that same poll? What an opportunity.
Look, fan sites are great, it just seems more sane to identify them as such.
See, you're good with the Lambert fans. They don't know what they hell you're talking about. He has a Pink-written single, right? And a cut by Muse! And one by Ryan Tedder! It's sheet pop but . .. why not call it metal! Call it glam rock! Hell, call it Appalachian bluegrass or disco, it's not like they'll know!
Good luck with all that. BTW, Season 9 of Idol is starting now. I'm sure there will be some spectacular metal.

ETA: Oh, and someone posted this, lol:

I'm just gonna sit here and wait for Rolling Stone and The Los Angeles Times.

(Since the two have been critiziced also on the thread for their irrational love for Glambert and for naming him the new "Rawk Gad".)

I need to go to bed, but the posters on DCO are as entertaining as the ones on Top Idol. snark is so good sometimes (I feel a bit bad that it's snark on Adam as much as it's snark on Rockstar Weekly, but still, it's funny):

Word on the street (which street exactly?) is that Green Day and U2 are in heated negotiations with Mr. Lambert's management team over first rights to follow the great Adam Lambert on his European tour, RockStarWeekly reports. While Lambert has been quoted as saying "I just don't know which way to go. Should I open for Green Day because I like them or U2 because that's where the money is," Green Day, U2, and Europe anxiously await his decision.
Meanwhile, in other metal news today, the Jonas Brothers continue to...

RockStarWeekly flash news update! Adam Lambert has pulled out of his European headlining tour with U2. According to our inside sources, Mr. Lambert felt that a tour at this time would interfere with his upcoming red carpet appearance at the Project Runway Finale. Also, his management was not able to provide him with assurances that he would be able to obtain proper nail and hair care in foreign countries. Mr. Lambert is reported to have said "f*ck U2, you can't dance to them anyway".

Thanks for the Top Idol link, missaddicted, that was hilarious. Thanks for the quotes, too -- I'll have to comment tomorrow-- going to bed.

(Some of that stuff was really funny.)

I kinda feel bad for the nice and normal Adam fans. They must be put in the same category as the crazies and endure them at the same time. David Cook has a few fans that are a bit creepy, but they're maybe a handful. If I had to put up with some of the crazies in "my" fandom, I think it would encourage me to stop liking the artist... which is probably not the goal of fandom!

The crazies wreck it for the rest, true. But really, in Adam's fandom there are more than usual. Way more!

When some of the Adam fans write that Kris's fans are just as crazy, just as competitive, just as mean, etc. -- well, no, they aren't. I've been looking at the fan stuff on the internet for months and if there are any crazy Kris fans, I haven't noticed.
I don't know about David Cook fans. I'm sure if the crazies exist they represent a miniscule % of the fandom, same as with Kris.

I guess I can't blame Adam for his fans, but I'm sure there are reasons they're into him and not into Kris or Danny or whoever. It could be about music, or it could be image, or personality. But a lot of them are unable to see the big picture, for whatever reason.

Stupid boys, part 2:

This is a video that the band Green River Ordinance posted (they opened for Cook on some of his tour dates). We see David as the Green Man, Kyle the drummer as Captain America and two members of GRO as a banana and a monkey "rehearsing" the prank that they wanted to pull on The Scrip, who were also openers for Cook on some dates, as I'm sure you know. Then we see what happened on stage while The Script were performing. LOL.

LMAO at the choreographed monkey and Banana Superhero concept. :) Too funny.

The Rockstar Weekly magazine always struck me as almost a zine type publication. Do it yourself publishing so to speak. I do remember the website having some sort of Chris Daughtry article or something the first time I came across it so maybe that's where the connection pops up. Opportunity knocks, you've got a website, get enough cray cray crazy fans knocking on your door, you too can publish your own magazine. Get them to send in their "very special moments with Adam" and boom you've got rent. It is what it is. And it's not metal.. lol. Seriously, can you imagine? I'm cracking up at those posts from DCO. Awesome.

Only 100$? We could carpool! Any takers?

BTW, that commercial for the Singapore show, was it made there? The guy undoubtedly has an American accent!

Aw, that's so cute!

Yay, for top 20 on pop!! Apparently, he should be passed by Jason DeRulo before the end of the week, but Kris should pass other artists as well, so it seems he has a good chance to stay in the top 20! Meanwhile, Daughtry passed him on HAC and Kris went back to #10. Boo Daughtry!
