LOL.

What's the EMA?

So...I disagreed so much with Slezak that after I read his take on Alright With Me I couldn't read the rest. I was almost mad. How dare he?

"But SleepinIn, ross and I all loved Alright With Me!".

We also liked Kris better than Allison. My tastes and Slezak's don't always coincide.

So...I'm hearing that midnight tonight (EST?) we might get to see the video. Cross all apendages.

Hey, what was wrong with this site today?

MTV Europe Music Awards. I had to look it up after seeing Jim tweet about "EMA" all day!

LOL! Yeah, I was a bit shocked too, but in the end, it's great! If everyone had the same favorite (or two favorites), it would mean that the album has a lot of boring filler. Since a lot of people seem to have different favorites right now, even though it's after hearing only the snippets, I take it as good news!

Yay for video at midnight tonight!

I think the site is fixed now actually, I'm receiving e-mail alerts again.

You should post your faves on the EW website. I went wild today (lmao) I posted my support for ARWM on EW and I poked my head out of lurkdom on MJ's. Do you really think we'll get the video at midnight?

Speaking of Alison (kinda) did you hear her spanish version of Friday I'll Be Over You?

Someone on the EW article compared Alright With Me to the Travelling Wilbury's .. I can hear that influence too.

Just cause we were talking about it the other day.. and Sebastian was awesome in it.

Kris's video is out! It's awesome, I love it! I love that we see him playing both piano and guitar. I have to admit that it took me forever to realize that the big structure with the lights was a clock, LOL. Nice!

MyPlay Embed Scalable Single Title

And I listened to approximately half of Gokey's single before concluding that I was definitely not the target audience.

I just realized that Adam is not in that "sexy men" video, while David, Kris and Chris Daughtry are all there. Are the Glamberts frustrated about that?

Well, one poster on the blog mentioned "Of course they're all three straight men." So I think there was a hint of things to come, right there.

VIDEO!
The video is so great! I loved it. You might want to go and read some of the negative comments on the blog when you get a chance, they'll make you howl with laughter, or pain, I don't know which. And you should read some of the hilariously snarky comebacks before mj deletes them, because you know she will.

This was one of the best I've read.

I just don’t get why this video isn’t more literal.
I would have put him in from of an enormous plastic alarm clock like the one I actually wake up to, with a built-to scale table lamp and a box of Kleenex.
Or, ok, what if the bedside clock is lifesize and Kris is two inches high to match, although that would leave a lot of unused space in the frame.
Also, he’s playing a piano in the desert, which will lead to a costly need to retune it. And I’m pretty sure the fire marshal’s won’t be happy about the safety of those giant flaming numbers.
And I’m still waiting for David Cook to return my messages about his failure to pass through security during his reckless Come Back to Me vid. What sort of messages does that send to terrorists?
Probably why they blew up the world that time and Adam couldn’t get a cab but still felt optimistic about finding a date. Nice priorities, Adam. A time for love, or a time for sending the wrong message to those who threaten our way of life?
American Idol music videos: why do they hate America?

Another:

BTW, some of the posts on this thread are hilarious – especially on the first page. I think Kris would really enjoy them. For those of you looking for a more literal take, I think he’s out there singing at night so that he’ll have the whole day free to join the “gang at the beach for the picnic”! Good time management skills!

This referred to a post by someone who said they thought the video would represent him waterskiing and hanging out with the gang having funm because isn't that what the song is about?

Um. Have you noticed they're pushing Written All Over My Face, and The Truth? Two of the three songs (along with LLWD) Kris didn't write on the album. Did you hear the ad after the video? And see the ad on Kris's website? Are these going to be the next singles? I want a song by Kris. I really don't care much for WAOMF. Why do they do this? Do they not think he can write? Do they not want him to collect royalties?

This is like a repeat of David Cook's situation: Light On and Come Back To Me, the only two songs he didn't have a hand in writing were the two singles. Yes, it's frustrating and yes, some fans are still bitter about it. I guess nothing would surprise me anymore if they did the same thing to Kris. I really like Written All Over My Face, but it's The Truth I don't care much about. Who knows, though, it's still way way early to think about a second single.

You're right. It's too early. But I wonder if these folks really have their ears to the ground. There was trmendous buzz about Can't Stay Away, and Before We Come Undone, so you would think those would be the songs they give some attention to in advertising. It's possible these ads were created some time ago, though -- prior to the tailgate party, for example. Anyway when it's time for a second single I suppose the fans can influence Jive (and Kris) by making requests for their favorite songs to Jive (and Kris).

New numbers -- now that iTunes has been fixed (this is hearsay): Adam's FYE, #48. LLWD, #101. TFM, #153. And I forgot the # of Allison's single. Not doing as well as FYE, at present.

So FYE is not #1? Heh.

I'm reading the comments on that blog and I find it really tedious. I wholeheartedly agree with your comment at 10:49, though. Well said!

I'll go back to work now!

VIDEO!! Is awesome. I really, really liked it a lot. I loved the moodiness of it, the digital clock (I did not envision the digital), the sunrise is beautiful at the end. Gonna watch it again.. ;)

Um. Have you noticed they're pushing Written All Over My Face, and The Truth? Two of the three songs (along with LLWD) Kris didn't write on the album. Did you hear the ad after the video? I wouldn't be surprised either. 19 is nothing if not determined. Actually there is a scene in Being Erica this week that reminded me a bit of the whole Idol machine. (Basically Sebastian/Kai is being asked to release a single that he didn't want to record under extreme pressure from the label)

That being said of the tailgate songs I LOVED WAOMF the best - the only thing I'm not sold on is it's got the same Script connection that LLWD does. Which shouldn't mean anything, but you know the bloggers and media will run with it. The Truth I am not sold on yet. I do however think Kris loves 'The Truth'. So he might get what he wants and I might not get what I want.. that being said.. I've only heard 30 seconds of it..

and yeah your post at 12:53 Ross was spot on. I'll quote you :)

My thoughts on this video when I first watched it were simply that it was visually stunning and beautifully designed. I have watched it a few times now and I still think that. The huge clock illuminating the night is such a great image. It’s like modern art. There’s also something masculine about the imagery. The starkness of the desert setting, the truck, the lack of pretty colors, whatever. I thought the grand piano in the desert, wow. Just loved that.

It's simply gorgeous. (Not just Kris really - the setting itself) The Imagery, and overall design it's really impressive and the director did a fantastic job. For such a simple concept there is a lot of detail included.

And the Elle photoshoot...? Total fail. That's all we get from these three? Like seriously, I know they didn't have a lot of time, but maybe next year they can get Eric Ogden to shoot the photos. 'Cause he does damn fine work. :)
