Thanks for that interview. Adam talking about Kris's album: You know, that sounds boring. I'm sure it won't be, but Adam's description makes it sound boring as hell. I hope he's going to have some upbeat songs on that thing. And what does "organic" really mean? It sounds like granola.

I'm watching Ellen...I'm home today, I just happened to turn the show on. She's talking a lot about being a judge on AI. She's about to have Sharon Osborne (America's Got Talent) as a guest, so, I'm guessing, more talk about being a judge.
Here's Kris singing Hey Jude, last night. If you listen to his intro, you can hear how congested he is, plus he can't get through the speech without getting a little confused. TPTB need to give him a few days off after this is all over.

I'm back again, because someone on mj's blog linked to this Live In The Vineyard promo (the Napa Valley, CA, gig in Nov.), that lists a title for Kris's single.

I just called for those tickets to the pool party (Kris, David Gray). I redialled four or five times. It rings twice, then there's a pause, then you hear some tones, followed by "Your call did not go throught, please try again."
The fifth time, it rang twice, and there was the pause, so I started to hang up, and I heard "Hello" -- but it was too late, I guess I'm not quick enough. I continued to hang up. So I hung up on them.

Maybe the tickets would already have been given away, if you were not the good number (did you have to be caller # something?) don't beat yourself over that ross.

There are some great artists performing at the Vineyard thing! Is it something opened to the public (not that I'm going to go, I'm just curious)? Also, where did they get that info about Kris' single?
I kinda like the song by The Script, I certainly don't hate it. Actually, I've had their CD for a while and I have the same reaction towards that song that I have towards the whole CD. Enjoyable, but doesn't stand out that much. I don't really listen to it anymore. They were still #1 in their country (Ireland) though! It's a bit bland and if I haven't made that clear yet, my main fear for Kris' CD, it's that it's going to bland. (I'm not saying that it will be, just that I'm worried about it.)
I may actually see The Script live in the coming weeks, they're supposed to open for David Cook in October/November.

That's my main worry too. Eep. It's already an issue with being the Idol winner and rushing to get an album out in a couple of months. I just want it to be something he really likes.. and thus I really like. *nervous*

People on mj's blog say the song was either not released or was released only in Europe, or something. It sounds like it could be a Kris song. The lyrics have meaning. He said he won't sing lyrics he doesn't believe in.
After he sang What's Goin' On, didn't Kara say something totally out of left field to him, about how that was his kind of music, about how he was a socially conscious artist, or whatever? I was like: wtf? because on AI he mostly sang about love and relationships. I guess he sang All She Wants To Do Is Dance, though. And She Works Hard For The Money. Still, I wondered, at the time, if they were trying to present him as that type of artist for a reason. Like, that's what they wanted him to be, as a recording artist. (Assuming 19E uses the judges to push its agenda. Which seems likely enough.)
