Was he? I wasn't paying attention I guess. Oops.. My membership card is gonna be revoked. Maybe they were checking on the tumor? Who knows? Someone gave him the t-shirt.. ?

I'm going to have to notify the central committee.

Maybe he was sick with something else.

"Yes, we're a crazy fanbase.. but we're not as crazy as that fanbase."

LOL! I can't even believe that the Claymates are still going that strong. And they're actually a proof that a core dedicated fanbase is not sufficient for an artist to really have mainstream success, though it's probably necessary as SleepinIn said. Necessary, but not sufficient. (And it's not that Clay is a total failure, he's probably still having some success on Broadway or something, but he's not really mainstream anymore.)

I really think an artist needs to have casual fans to be popular. I mean, I buy a lot of music, and see probably more live shows that the average person, but I'm not really invested in a lot of artists. And even those I'm invested in, I can't say that I'm spending time calling radio, voting for things online and doing things like that. But I'm 100% sure that casual fans are necessary for an artist to become popular, even those coming from AI. Adam (and Kris too of course) will need to reach those casual fans just the same as those who have preceeded him.

Yes, the fans on his official website had that project for today! Good to know that they succeeded (how the hell is that spelled?)! It's the one year anniversary of his official website this weekend, so I think maybe that's why they chose today to trend #davidcookrocks.

He's probably not following that today though, they have four days off, and David tweeted that he was the best man in a wedding. And he tweeted that picture: It's a nice day for a wedding! ~D on Twitpic. LOL at the face and the hair. I hope some kind lady helped him with the hair!

I saw U23D in IMAX tonight, it was great!

Wow, that sounds good. The only things I ever saw in IMAX were travel things.

That David Cook pic...doesn't his hair always look like that?

Wow, that sounds good.

Yeah, I'm not the biggest U2 fan, though I really like some of their songs, but seeing the concert like that in 3D, I had shivers several times.

Yeah, pretty much, LOL. Well, when it's not hidden under a baseball cap or a beanie! But he was in a wedding today, it's a special occasion!

You're right. These guys need the casual fan even more, because they do have us (the crazy fanbase) The crazy fanbase doesn't get taken that seriously. It's when you have casual fans that request your songs without knowing anything about you. I remember listening to a lot of CHUM radio when Kalan's CD first came out - the DJ's were not that receptive (even on CHUM - which is a big Idol supporter even back when they weren't owned by CTV) to playing his songs when they were requested because they knew it was a campaign.

The majority of my ipod playlist.. I know next to nothing about the artists. I think that's pretty true for everyone in general, right? I had David Grey on my playlist. I've really never heard of him until Kris was booked for that radio show and winery thing. And yet his Killer's cover is on my ipod. Go figure.

This is the mystery David Grey cover on the ipod

U2 is 3D Sounds awesome! I haven't been as into them lately as I used to be - but just seeing something like that in IMAX would be great!

Good to know that they succeeded
-10 points for spelling. (I don't know how to spell it either, lol - it could be right for all I know)

I just checked the spelling of "succeeded" and I was actually right! It's just the "cc" followed by the "ee" that was confusing me. You never see that in French!

I think I'll have to acquire a taste for David Gray. From the stuff I've tried to listen to so far, his voice grates.

I don't think I have anything to add to this but I agree.

I also heard this about his more recent song, Hooray. I don't know what station, but apparently the dj's were aware it was the frauen in action.

Maybe David knows about the trending on twitter, his brother Andrew tweeted this:

@acookofficial #davidcookrocks I guess I can support this. Even if he just ripped one while I was sitting next to him.

I'm just not sure I understand what he means...

Hey, it's not over! We have to continue through the single/CD release season.

And there's always the new season of AI coming up in January! As much as I've complained about it last winter, I just know I won't be able to stay away. I hope I won't be the only one!
