I'm anxious about Ryan Tedder - but it's undeniable that the guy can craft songs that people want to listen to. Even very similar songs like Kelly and Beyonce's both went on to be big hits individually. It's good even for networking purposes to work with him. You never know.. down the road. It's a good thing.

Good point about networking. It's the music 'business'. Great to be idealistic at the right time, but this is a huge career chance for this guy and may be his only chance. He needs to make contacts wherever, whenever. It's okay if he sings coffeehouse music but I don't actually want him to end up singing in coffeehouses.

Daniel's article was really interesting. He said something that I've thought for a long time. Kris and Adam are a LOT alike in a lot of ways even though their styles are very different.

Also Daniel clearly got the talking gene of the family. He's as bad as Adam with the blabbing. :) Good for him.. I actually think Daniel is one of the main reasons Kris was able to rally so much of Arkansas around him as well as being the reason Kris auditioned in the first place. Daniel is a great promoter. Have I mentioned that I also really like Daniel?

Rickey supposedly has a cellcast but I can't find it again. lol

Some other site (Adam site of some kind) has another one. Sound not good.

Reviews: I don't even care any more.

Daniel's article was really interesting. He said something that I've thought for a long time. Kris and Adam are a LOT alike in a lot of ways even though their styles are very different.

Well, they're both the oldest sibling of two brothers, so they have that in common and it's supposed to make you a certain type of person: to be the oldest sibling. Neither of them liked school very much. I think their upbringings were similar, they even come from towns about the same size -- if you figure that Adam is from a section of San Diego that is more like a suburban town -- Rancho Penasquitos (I looked it up). (Actually, he's originally from Indiana. So many people in SoCal are from somewhere else, originally.) They're both nice, decent people. But I bet Daniel knows ways they're alike we wouldn't even dream of. Like their senses of humor, and much more personal stuff.

Can I guess? I think they aren't super-ambitious. Just looking at their lives so far, I get that. People who are nice often aren't cut-throat enough enough to focus on their ambitions 24/7. That's why Idol was a great thing for both of them. I also think they're both a little lazy, a little bit the home-boy type, or to put it another way: dreamers. I bet they've had to force themselves to work hard; I think both of them have a tendency to want to escape, to sit on a riverbank and dream.

If you can picture Adam doing that in full makeup.

Both music geeks, with younger brothers that they are really different from. (although they both have good relationships with them), strong bonds with their family. Good hearts in both of them. They've both traveled, neither of them seem to take criticisim personally (if it's given in an honest way). I'd say they were ambitious.. but you're right. They've both spent time in the background.

Crowd IS crazy. :)

I don't mind that Kris is working with the guy who wrote the best-selling song of the decade.

Gah, I hate that song. HATE!

That's an interesting point of view... I'm not sure I've ever considered they were like that, but it does make sense.

LOL! I'm DVR'ing Glee so I'm ok. Even though I've already seen the pilot. Can't wait to see the new episodes!

Kris is a jock, though. Baseball player in high school. As well as a "band geek." Adam was, as we used to say in my school, a "drama jock."

Starlight...people talk "helium" on this song. The most ridiculous explanation I've read is that people's ears have been assaulted by the noise of WLL and hear funny. Anyway, I never heard it. I liked the staging of this song (though I missed most of it, for my bathroom break -- hey, I wasn't going to take a bathroom break during Kris, after all).

I always say this, but his set is so huge for the runner-up. I mean, co-winner. Sorry.

Adam..."sailors"...lol

By the way, that Daniel Allen article, where he said Anoop was crying when Kris got those cheers in Arkansas. That made me get a little emotional, myself. Holy crap.

This Bowie medley is one area where I think Adam should curb the tendency to go into his "scream" -- his higher register. It's not necessary on every song. This is what lost me right away on AI. It's not creative to just rely on that all the time. These songs need to be interpreted.

And now Kris..........

Oh, no! Apologize is fine (though Kris made me like it way more than I did before). I was still stuck on f****** Bleeding Love.

I love this guy.

Top 36 guy Nate Marshall did an okay Bleeding Love on YouTube. (Headband and pink pants kid.) But let's drop it. Let's not keep on bleeding love.

As long as you like Apologize okay. One of the things you see on twitter all the time is that Kris's Apologize is better than Ryan Tedder's. I was just looking at RT's Wikipedia bio. Seems he won a talent contest, himself, originally. On MTV.

The cellcast is really crapping out now.

I know Adam's and Kris's sets are the same length (20 minutes), but Kris's always seems shorter, to me. Already on BL, now.

I still wish he was singing Falling Slowly somewhere in this set. (Broken record.)
Think he'll ever sing it again?
